Looking at the stats through the 6th week it is easy to see where our weaknesses and strengths lie:
:) Strengths: Offense (especially passing)
6th in avg. gain per pass play, 13th in avg. gain per rush, 7th in overall avg. gain per play, 2nd in lowest int. %, 10th in total yards per game, 11th in both passing and rushing yards per game.

:( Weaknesses: Pass Defense and Special Teams (rush defense is fine!)
While we've been very good against the rush and decent at not giving up a lot of points, we are:
23rd in avg. gain per def play, 29th in pass yards given up per game, 28th in avg. yards per pass play
Special Teams fare even worse:(our punt returns are decent at #15)
30th in KO return avg., 29th in net punting, 27th in FG %
32nd in opponents KO ret. avg., 31st in opp. net punting avg., 29th in both opp. punt return avg. and punt ret. gross
We are bottom 3 in most special teams categories!!!

Thanks for the stats.

I really believe this is a good sign for us. I coach Pee Wee Football, and theres one thing we stress to our kids. Every game we figure out what we need to improve, and every practice gives us another chance to get better. Now, clearly Pee Wee and Pro ball are much different, but Sparano and crew know what they have to improve and focus on during practice. We've seen the signing of our new safety as a good indication that our coaching staff know the problems in front of them and aren't blind to it (like a lot of coaches stubbornly are) and are willing to make the changes to get better.

I'd rather have a solid offense and a suspect defense six games in than a suspect offense AND defense.

Besides, with Parcells the defensive mastermind he is, and in control of getting players, I'd imagine our defense will be very dominant in the years to come. Special teams, well we could be a lot better in the next few games even.

Look out for Yamon Figurs in this one, Tedd Ginn's twin brother. 3rd round draft pick i believe, which is where Mr. Ginn probably should have been drafted, at least much more down the 1st round list.

Do you really think our rush d id that good or are teams just going after or weakness( our lack of pass d)

Ginn should be returning kicks and punts but that won't help our terrible special teams coverage

We will be able to answer that better after this week. The Ravens are gonna try to run it down our throats so if we can stop them we will know where we are.
