I notice we run the football in shotgun alot. Since after Wanny left. All other coaches run out the shotgun. I watch alot of football, and we are one of the few that does this. I'm just really getting sick of it. Running out of shotgun sucks. How can you have 5 coaches after Wanny , and all run out of shotgun way to much. This just baffles me.
 
Unless you mean for short yardage situations, I disagree. We re pretty efficient running the ball, my only complaint is we aren't doing it more... When you're starting back averages 5 yards a pop, there's no excuses being one of the more lopsided team in the league towards the pass...
 
It is a difference but we never run like a pro football team. Like running out of the I formation, 2 split backs, double tight ends like the Patriots do. We either run signal back or a stupid shotgun.
 
Running out the shotgun is what makes our read option plays so effective. There needs to be space in the backfield to allow for overpursuit. I think this offensive strategy is used simply because it makes teams worry bout THill running for chunks even on a simple zone run. Not positive but i think it is part of Lazor's offense that came from Philly
 
Tannehill runs ok but he ain't a fear like Russell Wilson. Seattle Seahawks don't do that. Tannehill just have 300+ yards last year. Russell Wilson had 800+.
 
Pretty much every time I see this team try to run out of a traditional formation they get blown up at the line. The only success they've had the last couple seasons was when they spread the field and ran the read option. It can be frustrating not being able do it but these guys just aren't equipped for that kind of ball.

I can agree. Last Back we had that didn't was Ricky Williams.. lol Even Ronnie Brown ran alot in shotgun during Wildcat days, but we also don't have a fullback.
 
Most teams that run the read option like us and have mobile QB's run a lot out of shotgun formation.

I use to deal with idiocy of others by getting drunk and/or stoned. Since that failed me I've had to resort to another method:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Being a fan of the Dolphins can be very baffling and frustrating indeed. lol
 
Its not like its successful anyway. We only have 1 1000 yard rusher to pull through from it. Which was Lamar Miller who barely got 1000. Lol
 
Running the ball from under center is a lot my successful when you have a full back to be the lead blocker, seeing as we don't have a FB, I think shotgun gives the RB better vision to choose the gap to hit.
