If we had hired McCoy, the haters would have said, we've hired Dan Henning's protege.

If we had hired Bowles, then we would have stayed with the old Sparano regime, and our Owner and GM would have had no marbles.

Now that we've hired Philbin, i'm sure the haters will come out and complain that he hasn't called plays, can he control a room, etc. He's Cam Cameron, right guys?

The problem is, Philbin, as head coach, DOES NOT CALL THE PLAYS. However, as a head coach, he is responsible for working with his coaches to come up with the gameplans. Coming up with offensive gameplans is EXACTLY what he did in Green Bay, since 2007.

Everything I've heard about this guy is great. He is well respected in NFL circles, and not for his rebound from his recent tragedy. Fans love him and his players supposedly think VERY highly of him.

I'm just glad that the respected people on this board, CK, SR7, etc, are along with me, for this hire. Because McCoy and Bowles were clearly the WRONG choices.

Most of the threads and posts are very positive......unlike this mornings posts after the breaking news about McCoy being 'hired.'

I think there is a fine line in giving constructive criticism vs. simply hating...

I do not think it is a bad hire, but there are still a lot of question that must be answered over the next few months. Certainly an interesting hot stove this winter.

Agreed but there was a lot more hate this morning over McCoy and I think he would have required a lot more answers than the Philbin hire will.

Ok, we just picked up a head coach who has a good possibility of turning this ship around and most of Dolphinsville can rally around. I know the fanbase can be wild at times, but let's not kill the buzz by going at each other throats now. :D

Questions or not, of which there should be FEW, Philbin is the right man. He's not Cam Cameron, as i'm sure he won't draft the entire Ginn family this April.

I think there are questions. I think there are questions about all the candidates.

Staff?
QB?
Leadership skills?

These will start to be answered in the coming weeks.

Lombardi never had an undefeated season, so yea there was room for improvement :3w:

I sure hope so...

It ****ing sucks to be just average...

Philbin is Lombardi now? The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive by a majority of the fanbase. You see people in spasms of joy because we hired Joe Philbin. Whatever happens the next few years, this fanbase will get absolutely what it deserves.

This board was pretty overwhelmingly in favor of Philbin out of the three finalists, so I think the reaction here will be pretty positive.

Words never came out of my fingers big fella.

I have been reading generally positive news about our new coach.

No idea what you're talking about. The board is as positive as it's been in a while with the hiring of Philbin. Of course people were bitching about the news of McCoy being the frontrunner. He was an absolute joke of a candidate.
