Dolphins — without Pro Bowler Ndamukong Suh but augmented by several key additions — today find themselves fourth best in the league in points per game allowed, best in passer rating against and tied for most interceptions.

The fact this defense has been a strength, and not a shortcoming, stands as the most pleasantly surprising development of this 2-0 Dolphins start.

“There’s something special going on here,” defensive end Robert Quinn said.

It’s forcing and making good on turnovers. Anything else is bogus.

It needs the o to pull its weight. We can’t rely on short fields.

I remain cautiously optimistic. However, I want to see how they play against the Pats or any offense with an elite QB.
I don’t expect them to shut them down like the Jags, but I would like to see them make some plays and limit the scoring to under 24 points.
If the Pats go off on them for more than 30 Pats, then it was a mirage.

Robert Quinn was traded for just this offseason, like recently...within the last 6 months. Dont understand how free agency and trades get confused so often.

We gave up a measly 4th rounder for a stud DE....basically gave up a Joe Toledo, Dion Sims, Jamil Douglas or Clyde Gates....sign me up every time for the game changers for a 4th! Now yeah, we have to pay him more than a 4th rounder...but hes certainly worth it, every time!

Cornerbacks are playing very well, Robert Quinn is a beast, and we have played 2 bad quarterbacks + 1 rookie.

That said, run defense has been

Its been two games, two, seems like we have been here before.

The defense has started out strong before, only to wither from lack of support from the offensive side.

The turnovers have been huge, last year we couldn’t buy a TO.

Quinn is a beast. He has impacted both the pass rush and the running game. It is about time we had a complete defensive end.

While I agree we have not faced a good QB yet, the defense is not making mediocre QBs look like elite QBs. That is an improvement!

Love watching this defense. Instead of the frustrating continual opponent first downs, we are making really good stops. On top of that, we are getting turnovers. That helps us, and deflates an offense. Let's go D!

The “everything else is bogus” part was probably the tequila talking last night.
