If you want to talk importance of games, it doesn't get much bigger than this week vs. the Pats. This here is the season and the division most likely. We are about halfway through the season and if we let the Pats take a 3 game lead our hopes may fall to the wildcard. Anyhow, I'm sure a lot of you know this, but there hasn't been the expected sense of urgency on the boards. This is the game of the year, I know that shouldn't change anything in terms of approach, but it's still something to keep in mind.
 
if the boards don't get urgent soon we may lose! :)
 
i agree, the last Jets game too actually... i felt like we needed to win these 2 to have any shot at the playoffs... if we can beat the Pats it not only validates us as a playoff contender, it puts us right back in the hunt for the AFC east crown
 
Agreed we need to win this game for many reasons! This game is a chance to show we are for real! To show last year wasn't a fluke and this team is back as a contender!
 
You'd think Brady was the boogieman. We're just checking under the bed and keeping an eye on the closet.
 
Historically we give Brady a bad time. If we do what we did to Brees in the first half, FOR THE WHOLE GAME, we will shut him down.
 
you guys really think you want to see our wide receivers get hammered in the playoffs by the vikings or the cowboys . I hope we kick the patriots butts and it would satisfy me if we swept the pats too but playoffs come on now it will be a one and done with our current wrs.

In reality we are better but we dont have a offense to get us past round one. this offense is a disaster in waiting but that doesn't mean we cant be a winning team . the playoffs is mirage at this point.
 
It is a big game, a big one for both teams. Pats know what they're facing the next month and know a win Sunday is a must to have a chance at HFA & possibly a bye in the playoffs.

Um if we make the playoffs, we wont play the cowboys or vikes

I guess one can argue that the points from the last Jets game came mostly from our Defense and Special Teams with our Offense only gather what, 140 yards offense 1 td?

Either way, we definately have the capability to score and score big, which we have proven. Let's just hoep we can be consistent with that and score against a tough Pats team.
 
No doubt, We scored more points against the two best teams in the league (Indy, NO) than any other team has this year. Statistically we look very similar to the 2001 Patriots at the same point in the season. If our defense could step it up like that team did then the sky is the limit. We can beat anyone (playoffs or not)

These people are giving up way to early. The season is just starting. They don't give out trophies in October or Novemeber

I agree that our team isnt disatrous but to be fair, in the last game we scored 30+ points in, 21 of them was from special teams and defense.
