In a sense we have a new breath of life. A clean slate. Everything is in front of us right now. We control our own destiny. If we want to make the playoffs its right there in front of us it just depends if this team gonna put everything aside get focused and really want it. But the two guys Im looking at are Ryan Tannehill and Joe Philbin. Before the season started we were promoting ourselves as a playoff team. So lets see if these 2 men are the men we need leading this franchise going forward. Excuses or no excuses. Distractions or no distractions. Bullygate or no bullygate. Depleted oline and WR core and the whole country hates u right now. 6 games with every chance at the playoffs right now. Grasp and go. Lets see. Be leaders of men and take your team into the playoffs. Phins Up

I hope so because I'm in the Charlotte area and I've heard some interviews with Cats players today. They are very, very mindful that Sunday's game could be a trap game for them, so those guys sound focused. Philbin and Tannehill need to be razor sharp for these guys.

I'm not going to read too much into this game. I don't think we can compete with them up front and that's not on anyone but Jeff Ireland.

I want to see team play hard, and RT have an error free game. I do agree with OP, this game will tell us a lot about our coach and QB.

really you pick this game against that comer of a team and defense to determine if the qb and hc can lead us???

reminds me of the Seahawks game last year...which we won at home. I'd love see a win but not very confident. Hope RT makes it out healthy...

The NFL investigation is a distraction this week that is too hard to overcome. The staff has found little ways to get the players to rally around each other during these tough times.

Plus, practice was cut short today supposedly as part of the late season sked...yeah right Joe...it was cut short because people are being interviewed about this Martin controversy.

Huge game for Philbin and Tannehill we can still get to 6-2 at Sun Life which is a big accomplishment and another step in the right direction after going 5-3 at home last year.

Totally agree, this is really a bad matchup for us. At the beginning of the season I laughed at this game and had no problem predicting a win. What a difference 8 games makes for a team. They are solid defensively and without sounding too negative we go back to our RBs getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage all day.

Losing Keller was a bad blow to our offense but now we are real thin at playmakers now that we lost Gibson. I'll be at the game so I'm hoping for a great effort and a great game but this game has "disappointment" written all over it.

Our defense is bend and don't break but 3rd string RBs have been clipping off long runs so now you add a TE we won't be able to cover and a QB who can scramble but also run through you is going to test our defensive will. Panthers are on a run and is also a strong team fundamentally

As long as we compete I won't complain.

But if we come out with repetitive mistakes I guess....... I wont complain I think I have said all I can say.

Excellent points, however.......the Phinz offensive line is simply NO match for the Panthers defensive line IMHO, that's a fact. When your offensive line is just over matched there really is not much you can do. If you go max protect....then only 2 receiver's are running patterns (that's clearly not good). Every time that you have to help one of your linemen...that's one less person to throw to (that's clearly not good). If the Phinz OL could just play decent (not great or even good) just decent then the Phinz could have had a truly special season. Hopefully the Phinz draft TWO really good tackles plus an elite guard next year to fix the cappy OL. I don't understand why so many people on this site do not understand how important having a decent offensive line is, Man it's basic football 101 you win in the trenches period :-(

We should be targeting the CB from the Panthers I think #23, White? I saw some of the Monday Night game and he seemed to be struggling against a rookie WR
