Here is a few stats that show you how they are ranked stats wise so far.

Offense:

Positive stats

18 in the league in passing
11 in the league in rushing
14 in the league in offense
13 in the league in scoring percentage
12 in the league in scoring
11 in the league in 3rd down percentage
7 in the league in 3rd downs made

Negative stats

2 in the league in offensive penalties (horrible)
4 in the league in penalty yards (295) (this is killing our team)
24 in the league in time possession (this needs to meet standarts)

Defense

10 in the league overall defense (very positive)
19 in the league in passing defense (awful play in the backfield)
5 in the league in rushing defense (no one can't run against us)

Zack Thomas having one of this best seasons so far.
Among linebackers he ranks number one in tackles solo, combined and sacks.

Randy Mcmichael is 2nd in tight ends on touchdowns and yardage.

Among defensive linemen, Jason Taylor has, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 touchdown, pass defended and 17 tackles.

the time of possession stat is misleading...

in the past it was because our offense were having 3 and outs..... now its because they score so quickly. :)

TOP is more important if you are losing... if you are winning, that means your offense is super fast.

Time of possession my friend in the nfl is like playing chess. This is how John Gruden makes his offense works for example and how many other teams made it near the superbowl or to the super bowl like new england. If your time of possession is longer than the other team, you are more likely to control the clock in the game and develop scoring drives. If you notice, we aren't ranked as a top team in scoring because the time of possession is something that must be worked on extensively. When you are controlling the clock you are taking charge on the field, letting your defense rest and keeping the opposing teams offense out of the game.

Our offense is far from super fast. Time of possession tells you how much time we had to make plays happen. Its noted that in every pro game, time of possesion tells you how well your plays have been developing and advancing, due to our penalties, we find ourselves punting a lot instead of making for the big push.

well you are reading too far into this.

we are not scoring super fast, but i was using that term loosely, and humorously. Remember last year? touchdowns were few and far between. Compared to last year, we are scoring super fast. Its relative.

who cares about TOP when you are winning? just another example of having not much to complain about since we won, so we must over-analyze every possible stat and situation.

Yes, it would be nice if we had greater TOP, but remember our secondary gives up first downs on 3rd down plays, and our offense (up until this week) could not run the ball for squat.

don't sweat the TOP, it should get better with our o-line starting to gel...
