Chew up the clock again.

OUR ALLY WILL BE THE GAME CLOCK!

Wildcat and run down their throats and run 60+ plays. Control time of possession for like 40+ minutes.

This keeps the Saints offense on the bench. Keep the scoring down low in the 14-30 range and we can have a shot to beat them.

If they score, we chew the clock and score. They score again, we chew the clock and score. Until finally, they have to punt or we get the ball and it's tied. Then we score and win the game.

That all sounds good in theory. But the reality is that we are not going to score every possession we get. If we can limit them to less than 35 points, then we have a CHANCE to win. It will still be up to our offense to put up some numbers. Yes we need to run and control the clock. But rushing for 200+ yards will not win this game. We need some form of aerial attack to be able to go score for score with the saints. Which no team has been able to do this year. They havent even trailed yet this season! The way our defense has been performing, it looks like the only way we can pull this one out is to limit them to roughly 6-8 total possessions. The only way we can do that is by running the ball and mixing up some play action so we can keep up with their high octane offense. This will be a tough one for us and will be a great scale to see where this team really is in terms of the "Elite" NFL teams. And trust me, the New Orleans Saints are an Elite team.

P.S. Thanks to all of you Saints fans for coming on here and actually being able to have a decent football convo. Its a nice break from all the garbage we have been hearing the past 2 weeks from the Jets and Bills fans.

Actually, with Henne, we seem to score TD's instead of FG's. At least the past two games dictate that.

Pennington was a spent shell looking back IMO.

If you can watch the game tape of the Bills/NO game. Alot of nice defensive looks to use against NO. In that game BUF was in it and actually held that NO offense in check until the 4th qt. MIA will need a great game from its front 7 on def and its front 5 on offense.

We will definitely need to reuse the Colts gameplan for this game. Gotta keep that high powered Offense off the field as much as possible.

Eating up the clock won't win this one. We ate all of the clock vs Colts. We still lost.

I have two suggestions for leading to a win.
#1. Score more points than they do.
#2. Take Brees out of the game. He's got two knees, he only needs one. j/k

Our DB's need to have the biggest game of their career's. That's how we will win this.

All I know is the Saints got some bigtime respect for doing what they did to the undefeated Giants yesterday. They scored more points on the Giants than any team in the last 10 years! Jeez. Brees torched em good.

I bet our D coordinator Pasqualoni will be working his butt off this week trying to game plan for these guys. It's a tall order. Apparently the Giants totally overlooked the Saints. They were just shocked at what happened.

If we win this game on Sunday, the Dolphins coaching staff should get a lot of the credit for it. I really think the Dolphins can pull it off. The whole team is going to have to bring their "A game" to say the least. The Dolphins might be the new darlings of the NFL if we beat them.

I know Belichick will sit up and take notice. The Jets fans will be freaked out because we get the rematch with those guys a week from Sunday. We'd have the psychological edge for sure in our next 2 division games. We need all of that we can get ... especially for road games. :chuckle:

We were a Ted Ginn TD catch in the final seconds of winning the game and sending the Colts off with a loss.

We will need to hold them to 8 possessions. It means taking the big play away from them on defense and offensively to run long, time consuming drives.

Brees is playing at a completely other level. And two years ago with the Patriots great offense, they didn't have the balance these Saints have. They didn't have very good RBs. These guys have have two outstanding RBs with Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell...and thats not even counting the big play ability of Reggie Bush.

The frustrating thing about this game is I can envision us playing great and still losing this game. These guys are good. As I think someone said in another thread, the good news is they are in the NFC and it will only be our 4th loss. We will be able to absorb one more the rest of the season if we want to make the playoffs.

I am trying to stay positive (as I am making the trek down to see the game) but these guys are just scary good. Watching their highlight film is a horror show if you are a DC trying to prepare for them. They have so many weapons, so much balance, as smart a QB as has ever played this game...and hes in his prime.

That said, strange things happen in this league. The Raiders beat the Eagles. Buffalo beat (anyone)....Both things are shocking. If we win, it will be a shock. But I am giving Miami a punchers chance.

As always, our DL will have to play huge. We will have to generate some pressure and have some flash plays (sack, INT). We haven't been great at it this year, but lets hope we are healthy and rested now coming off a bye. It'll be an incredible challenge.

If you guys are going to the game, make sure you interact with the Saints fans. These guys are more fun than any other teams fans in the league. Every year when they come to Tampa I go to Ybor and party with these guys. They are friendly and fun as hell. Hopefully they will have a great time in Miami, spend some money, and go home heartbroken!:d-day:

1.) I say we paint their locker room completely pink. Top to bottom. And say it's for Brees awareness week.

2.) Pull the fire alarm at their team hotel at 2, 4 and 6:00 a.m.... and tell them it's done like this for Hurricane awareness.... something they were sorely lacking in N'awlins.

3.) Tell them as part of the "Flex" scheduling the NFL does, that the game's been moved to 8:20 p.m.

4.) Don't let their offense have the ball......... no, literally do not give them a ball to play with!

5.) All the fans bring whistles to whistle their plays dead prematurely.

6.) Alternate the footballs with helium filled on one series and water filled on the next.

7.) Bribe their special teams with South Beach babes..... something they don't have in La.

8.) Remember that play from "the Longest yard"?......yeah, that one.... Run it about 15 times. (That way we can brag that we got 15 sacks)!

or
9.) Just score more points than we allow.... simple.
