This is how you do it.

First of all think whatever you want about the draft so far, but he just used the first two picks to replace what was already here in Wilkins and Rob Hunt.
If you don't see the difference between two 21 year olds on rookie deals and two now-aging veterans on max deals for their position...

Someone is complaining because the FO is doing a good job?

Somedays, even when you win, there are folks who seem to be able to always whine. - LOL
At some point it would be "yeah Grier got all the other units in competitive shape, but we're still just going to get killed on special teams he is blind the sky is falling this guy has to go.."

you pick the players that you want it makes no difference how they get it, they got the player that they needed, see you trying to lose out a good player to pick scrubs in later rounds.

ohh i do. the now aging veterans are still pretty young, i know they were good whereas you don't with these guys, and they were here, so if they were re-signed they would not have needed to be replaced. thusly we are running in place to stand still, or go backwards.

Agreed but this is where we are after overpaying for other vets, trading away and losing multiple premium picks to owner mistakes. Have to live in reality not what could/should have been. FWIW I still think it would have been a mistake to pay Wilkins or Hunt what they got in FA.

The raiders just moved from 37 to 58 and pick up two additional 3rd rounders and move from 5th to 4th round. I don't understand why this seems so hard for our front office. You are going to miss on some of these guys but you build your team with day 2 picks. Honestly not a huge difference in talent from early 2nd to late 2nd. Why is something so simple so hard for Grier to comprehend. This makes the draft just another frustrating day in the life of a fin fan. Please somebody wake the f up and fire this absolute idiot.
So Grier doesn't make enough trades for you?

I liked trading up a round next year. I guess for me in this draft... there was a few "must have" talents. I also believe in spending those very high pics on positions of difference like QB, OT, Edge and CB. Sometimes there's a player like Bowers last year at a position outside of that, that is worth it. When the talent is fairly even in the rounds 2 through 4 I think its wise to pick as many as possible. So.... yeah I think Grier doesn't make enough trades and gets way to fixated on "his" players as well.

But isn't that exactly what Grier did this draft? - LOL

Yes, and as one poster pointed out we received more in "trade value" than we gave up.

What do you have to say to that?
