I think this is looking pathetic. Look, I know it is not the same thing, but would you want to marry a girl that was having a hell of a time deciding between you and some other guy? It makes us weak. I want a coach who thinks that coaching the Miami Dolphins is the greatest job in the world, that REALLY WANTS to be here, and can't wait to challenge Brady and the Pats twice a year. I think we should retract any offer to Fisher. Screw him, he had his chance. Bring on someone who will bleed aqua and orange, like some of us do.

I don't agree with this at all. We would look dumb if we where not interviewing anyone else while Fisher decides. I think the Dolphins are handling it right this time.

I want a coach that wins. period.
I don't care about the details regarding the hiring process/experience.

I'm twixt and tween.. I have a perspective on this, so it's more than just intuitive: I know that even when a decision is difficult, so long as you've got experience going through this kind of decision previously and possess a matured perspective regarding the merits and downsides of all the factors involved, you should trust your gut instinct on which alternative feels and is best for you when all else is pretty equal.

If he's agonizing over this decision by this point, he lacks the conviction to take either and if that's the case, settling on one creates shaky ground and does both him and that team a disservice. I say he takes neither and decompresses for another year.

Coaches arent fans, they arent choosing jobs based on who they pulled for as children. They look for a combination of best situation and most amount of money.

I DO NOT want a coach who would choose a team for the "Easier" division they're in.

I think when you take a job you take everything into consideration. Yes, you can be torn, because a mistake can cost you more than simply fain disdain. I would agonize too. Obviously being on a Dolphin message board makes us all somewhat biased, but that should mean we should be impatient, or irrational from Jeff Fisher's perspective.

The problem is we want an answer now. The media fans the flames with reports on either side of the equation.

I think we as fans should be doing what the dolphins are doing. Examine other candidates, until THE word comes down.

The thing is, its not like he's sitting in his living room trying to figure it out by himself... I'm pretty sure he's been making alot of calls to assistants trying to gage who could follow him where, gaging interest from all over the place... At least thats what I would do... This is not your usual job, he'll probably sign for 5 years. A week and a half is reasonable considering that week and a hafl will dictate the next 5 years of his life...

Exactly.. it's about amassing a staff, looking at all the possibilities of players and personnel. Ownership. His family. Stability in living, not organization. You don't make a snap decision with so many factors in play.

AND I'm sure Demoff has been filing his head with every possible scenario to consider.

I don't fault Fisher for taking his time, that's his business. I just think that our interviewing others right now is kind of transparent when by all reports the job is Fisher's the moment he says so. I guess I feel that the team is kissing this guy's ring in a way that his resume doesn't justify. I think we SHOULD look elsewhere, IF we are serious about the other candidates and not just doing it to save face.

He invested lots of years in Houston/Tennessee and ended up being betrayed.

Once bitten twice shy.

I don't blame him at all for trying to set up the best set of circumstances for himself.

There's nothing wrong with Fisher taking his time. It's his career he's thinking of, I mean he was in Tennessee for 17 years. This shouldn't be a decision that is made quickly. It's not his or the Dolphins fault there are 25 rumors a day about where he'll go. It's the world we live in now.

And it makes Fisher look smart.

The guy isn't desperate for a job and he is going to take his time and pick his best option. In his position any smart person would do the same.

Best thing to do now. Chill out. Drink a beer. Watch some porn. When the Dolphins have a new head coach they'll let the rest of us know about it.
