Like it or not, this is not Saban's team. In essence, he kept the players that he believed were producers and had the maturity to buy into his philosophy. The free-agents he signed (i.e. Gus, Carter, Holiday and bringing Ricky back) are simply short-term fill-ins to give us a small chance to contend. The Dolphins are not easily beaten. We stick in their and fight regardless of penalties and early-game blunders. That is the attitude that Saban is selling. I see it working even when we lose. We are lucky to have the owner that we have. Otherwise we might have ended up like the bears after their Wanny era. Saban has said that he will build year in and year out through the draft. He knows what we are finding out, these free agents are not the answer. Its going to take patience and persistence to achieve our goal. As fans, perhaps we should try to follow this philosophy as well and stop second guessing the coach in the 6th week of his NFL head coaching career. I am seeing a lot of poo poo mouths chime in and its pretty silly if you ask me. Those of you who are already downing our head coach are revealing either your age or your severe lack of maturity. That being said, i think we need to run the ball more!!!

Its Saban's team......they are all just not Saban's players yet...in time, in time.

P.S. are we trying to queitly run the ball?:rofl3:

Look back at the drafts from say 96 to 03 and tell me how many guys are still on this team. The bears are STILL REBUILDING from the mustache era and the poor pitt panthers could not beat Burger King University even spotting them a 14 point lead, In Saban, We trust.

I think it will take a couple season's for this team to be a true representitive of what Saban has envisioned.

I really hope linehan runs more next game.....no matter what the score. dont have to worry bout over-working ricky cause now we got ronnie to pound it also. what a great combination if they would only use it and THEN pass.[/size]

I completely agree. In fact, that is what i was trying to say. So, we are on the same page. I really hope linehan runs more next game.....no matter what the score. dont have to worry bout over-working ricky cause now we got ronnie to pound it also. what a great combination if they would only use it and THEN pass.

I really want to know, why are you whispering?:rofl3:

The whispering is me second-guessing my own level-headedness and engaging in the same questioning of the coaching staff that the poo poo mouths are. Here is an example: I really hope Saban had a sit-down with linehan and talked about the need to utilize our running backs more. Maybe play-action type stuff that would give Gus (or Lemon hehe) more time to find recievers. See how that works. I think its clever.

Count me in as the third poster to this thread that agrees with you.

And by all means...let's run the ball a lot more.

i dont think we'll have much choice on sunday. i'd like to see ANYONE throw the ball into hurricane force winds. you think gus overthrows receivers now? think about when he has Wilma out there giving him a push. i think we'll see a lot of Ricky and Ronnie.

I don't think I would be putting to much stock in that game taking place.

Thank you for someone finally supporting Saban. I see so many people badmouth him and they obviously immature and don't know what they are talking about. Saban is a great talent evaluator and will build a strong team in a few years. Even the temporary additions he has made this year have made the biggest impact this season (i.e. Gus, Carter, Holiday and bringing Ricky back). Give it time. Be a true fan. Appreciate the game for what it is. Its the best thing to happen to mankind since women (and they're not that great anyway).

Great Post!! Even the whispering.

I agree. Saban really inherited a mess, although I don't think a lot of fans realize that. He has a tough job on his hands to build an offense while the defense is getting older in key areas. It's not a one-year fix by any means. To me, this year isn't so much about wins and losses as it is about establishing an identity, getting the young players some playing time and giving great effort win or lose. Admittedly, it's hard for me to remember that on Sundays because I want to see the team win. But I do believe Saban is the right choice and we as fans just need to be patient.
