I am copying a thread that I replied to in a previous post.. I want to get everyone's take on this- That yes we have suffered a tremendous amount as Dolphin fans- But we have to put these few weeks in perspective

What we are seeing this year is a the start of A TRUE rebuilding effort.
Rebuilding means getting rid of your most vocal veterans- We got rid of Zach and Taylor.

Rebuilding means turning over the roster- We have over half of our roster that has been turned over.

Rebuilding means focusing on young talent that fits a particular philosophy- We drafted OL and DL- We want to stop talking about being strong in the trenches and want to start living it.

Rebuilding means pain with purpose. And for the first time we have purpose during this awful stretch.

And to dull the pain, take note of this:
Rebuilding does not involve drafting a speed punt returner that allows you to dream that you can catch a few special teams td's and win games.

Rebuilding does not involve signing Joey Porter in the hopes that he can shore up a D that was ignored an entire offseason.

Rebuilding does not involve taking it easy in the preseason and not coaching the final game to observe.

Rebuilding is not trading Chris Chambers while you are in the midst of losing all your games.

Rebuilding is not trading away draft picks for 3rd and 4th string QB's.

Remember these things the next time you decide to bash the organization. This is year one. A true new beginning. 1-15 was not the start of rebuilding it was the culmination of not rebuilding.

My only problem is I thought we have been rebuilding for the past 5 years. Enough already!!! I am so freakin' tired of hearing that we are rebuilding. It is a lame excuse that has been officially played out.

BOOO!!!

Cash, don't assume that we were rebuilding because we lost. WRONG. We always tried to plug the stream of water with band aids. It was never about rebuilding until we hit rock bottom. Cameron realized how bad it was at the mid point of last season when we traded Chambers. But by then it was too late.

One of the best posts Ive read in a very long time.

The Dolphins haven't been rebuilding for five years, they have been trying to put band-aids on gaping wounds. This is how you rebuild an organization, and this is what it is going to look like for most of the season. It is finally being done right and I'm happy and excited about it.

The poster is dead spot on! The only reason we've been rebuilding "for the past 5 years" as you put it, is because no one has taken the time or effort to do it right until now. Wanny and Spielman= too worried about saving their own necks to worry about the future of this franchise. Saban= I think we ALL know where his heart really was, tried the NFL, couldn't get instant results and slithered away like the snake he is. Cameron and Mueller= Just flat out had no clue how to rebuild ( Although I disagree with the poster on the Chambers trade, the only good move these two made. If you are serious about rebuilding then anyone you can acquire draft picks for has to go.) This current regime has it right, we as fans just have to be patient. Although some on this board don't want to hear it, but they'll be the first ones singing Tony's praises when it all turns around:lol:

When you change regimes, the process starts over. You can't rebuild a team when the people in charge of rebuilding don't stay real long. The only way to fix the mess is to go with the people we have for more than a year or two. They need probably three years to turn this team around. If we fire coaches and GMs every year, we will never go anywhere.

WHAT ?! It's not week 3 of the total destruction of the earth and implosion of the entire universe as all life is snuffed out of existence due to the loss of 2 football games ?

It's time for some people to step back from that ledge, my friend.

The most glaring issue I see about people around here with the rebuilding kprocess is.. they don't comprehend that the SEASON is a evaluation process. We are not going to the playoffs, we are NOT going to win the superbowl. We are going to get young players experience and keep them in games even if they do bad so they can LEARN and continue to do so.

I don't care what our win/loss stat is. I am in for the haul that should have came a long time ago. We must show patience and understand what rebuilding from the bottom up is. I don't think more than a hanful of teams in nfl history have ever had this type of attempted turn around. We got rid of most of our team, drafted a very young team... and they simply must continue to be a work in progress. I honestly didn't care to see any wins the first 5 games or so, I figured at the midway point we should start to come together as a group and start to see the potential we got from this season. I still believe the last half of the season we will be the team that ruins a few playoff chances.

rebuild fine but play the best players to see what we really have. for example, if ginns not a true #1 cool make him a slot reciever and a kick and punt returner....let him play somthing he is good at, not just sit him and waste the talent.. also you cant use rebuilding on bad coaching and poor gamplaning.... rebuilding fine if we go out and with the best players we have and put them into the best position to win and we dont i am totally cool with that.. but if we sit our "playmakers" that we do have and lose that falls on the coaching NOT THE ORGANIZATION

I know wer rebuilding and i love that. But honestly the only think im scared of is going 0-16. I know we wont( we wont right?), but i really wanna get that first win and be relieved from all this stress.

why stress? if your stressed you arent on the boat for REBUILDING nor understand it.

This is just a 17 week preseason for this team. THATS ALL WERE GETTING FROM THIS SEASON. UNDERSTAND IT its not hard. If we were going to grab fas trad eand do all this nonsense, k well buy a few wins and then still be just like last season.. or worse.

everyone gets playing time things well be moved around, people who have been proven to be starters will sit while we find something else in the same spot.

its really not a hard concept to understand.

I agree with you on theChambers trade..

Chambers = Henne

I agree with both you. I was never sold on Chambers. The trade was a great move by Cameron and Mueller.. Probably the only great move that they made.. The Welker picks were great compensation, but from the looks of it they were wasted.. Lets see how Samson performs this year before we decide
