This is really weird

Looking at the team statistics vs opponents we lead in most categories. Yards both rushing and passing, 3rd down conversions etc.

Point is you wouldn’t think we were 2-5 until you got to scoring of TDs where we’ve been outscored 16-9. Turnovers ratio is -3 which isn’t good but far from horrible. Besides the obvious in the TD department, the statistic that stands out as the worst is 2-15 on 4th down conversions. Is that even possible?

Anyway, normally the team stats vs opponent tell a clearer story. What gives here?

good teams find ways to win....bad teams(which we are right now) find ways to lose

Waddle 0 touchdowns this season
1 td in the last 15 games

Hill 1 td this season.

Teams took away our threats and
left us with $60 million and 1 td

we are a 1 dimensional team
and our coach has no clue how to
solve this problem

This has to be by design right ( meaning they want to tank on purpose for some reason)....because there's no denying we have 2 of the best WRs in the league...I don't care if it's the NFL or pee wee league....if you cannot draw up ways to get those guys the ball (other than bs screens) ...you don't belong in coaching much less a HC

I think our stats can be misleading because our biggest issue is not playing sound football. When you are constantly making mistakes, it overrides stats.

My favorite drive is where we had a holding, an illegal hands to the face, and an offsides (on offense!). You may get yards on a drive like that, but you ain’t scoring.
We do the little things that keep getting us beat combined with the fact we are a poorly coached and constructed team.

Stats have always been misleading. Modern Football comes basically to capitalizing from your defense key stops.
You can drive the football and check down all you want that if you dont score or when you do its almost always 3 points you aint gonna win in todays nfl

After Tua went down, our QBs were comprised of a guy poached from a practice roster and two guys who should be serving poached eggs at a diner.

If Tua had been healthy all year, I’m confident suggesting that we’d be in the playoff discussion despite the horror show we have on defence.

As for now, I think the season is done. The hole is too big to climb out of. We may have some nice games along the way, but the odds of it going very downhill are far higher than it improving.

We seem to have a team with a number of selfish prima donnas and I suspect it will turn toxic once more losses start piling up and they can’t watch their highlights or hear commentators constantly heaping praise onto them.

The Dolphins have had two games in which the team looked completely impotent in the first half, the opposition got out to a lead, and then basically just shut it down and ran out the clock in the second half. That skews the numbers, a bit.
Good point. I also think if you consider failed 4th down conversions the same as turnovers (I do) then we aren’t a -3 but more like a -13 so we’ve “turned over” a lot more drives than our opponents.

This has been a major issue. This is an example of how bad coaching looses with talent (although we are a very unbalanced team from a talent point). So many mentality weak mistakes with this team. Stupid penalties, poor tackling, ect.

Also McDaniel is a horrible playcaller, especially in big moments. How many times do we need to try and fade to Hill in the redzone? It has worked like once and the pass had to basiclally scrape the paint of the CBs helmet. The whole point of a fade is to put the ball over the top of a CB were only the WR can make a play, well do to Hill being 5'9 that is like a 6 inch target were the CB can't make a play while he still can.

The defense can't stop the run, so that skews the number defensively. Many on here a few weeks ago bought the top 5 pass defense ratings because they believe numbers don't lie. Oh numbers do lie lol.

We get no pressure, no sacks and no turnovers on defense.

Offense can't convert on 3rd or 4th down. We seem to move the ball, in some games, well between the 20's, but can't get in the end zone. That's been a problem since the 2nd half of the Titans game last year. We went from can't be stopped, to can't figure out how to start, on offense. That's all on coaching, and, personnel/roster mgmt.
Defense is not main the reason we're 2-5. Most of the blame should be on ST and offense. A decent backup QB and we're 5-2.

The D hasn't been lights out but when the offense can't sustain drives (look at the 3rd and 4th down conversion rates in our losses) it keeps the D on the field longer than they should be. The -3 turnover differential also points to putting the D on the field more often, sometimes making them defend a short field.

We have the 7th best 3rd down conversion rate when filtering solely by losses.

We have a -60 point differential. As it stands we are the only offense to not break 100 points yet on the season. We have 97 points on the season while the lowly Panthers have 124. Even with all our weapons it truly means nothing without a decent QB.

Repeated, Dropped TD passes don’t help either.

Miami does not have the kind of defense needed to win a post season game. It doesn’t.

Doesn’t matter what the offense does, the defense is not built to do shet but sit back there and let receivers make catches.

Well bottom line is, we aren't as bad as everyone on this site thinks we are. We looked completely different against the Cardinals last week and we should have won that game.

If we are tanking I don't want fake GM Grier doing the shopping next year. Heck, even I could collaborate with our coaching staff and select the players THEY want.

You think Mcd and staff were against Chop and Paul?
