Everyone is acting like an immature child who hates one of their parents because they got a divorce...No one here knows the entire situation, for all anyone knows, Saban did this to save his marriage or because his children were having mahor problems in Miami...If anyone says they wouldnt do the same thing if their family life was on the line, they are either lying, or a horrible person...Bottom line is, it didnt work out for him and he left, he didnt leave a week before the draft, or halfway through the season, he left at the best possible time for the team...Im sure everyone here has quit a job at some point in there lives, and I can gaurantee that that job didnt have as much pressure, and didnt put as much strain on their families as this job did...

Save the bs for the Springer show. Saban is a backstabbing, limp-wristed, scum-sucking, spineless, pitiful excuse for a man. IF he was having family problems, then he should have said WEEKS AGO that he was having family issues, or something like that, and said that he was considering the Alabama coaching job. However, he kept denying that he was taking the job, and kept lying about staying in Miami. He's a douchebag, and should be treated as such. Whatever happened to a man's word being his bond?

I don't necessarily know that everyone begrudges Saban for the actual decision as much as they do for the way he handled it. For me the moment that really set me off was the press conference Saban gave on New Years day when he talked about doing his job, making decisions, helping Miami get better, blah blah blah. That's pretty much just straight lies.

I guess to stick with your divorce metaphor, this would be the equivalent of your dad telling you he wasn't going anywhere and that he was going to take you on vacation and the next morning you wake up and your mother tells you he's gone. I think we're allowed to be a little upset over that.

There's always a bleeding heart in the crowd

For crissakes, even Saddam Hussein had a bunch of morons here in the western hemisphere saying he shouldn't die...

Booohooo. You seem to forget his FLAT OUT LIES he told everyone when Bama was courting him. You seem to forget his pathetic attitude towards the media, his nasty attitude and his control freak grip on everything the organization did under his dictatorship

Now let me ask you this, you have a guy that can stand up to the aggressive media and act like a prick, stand up to the fans when they don't act the way he thinks they should all while controlling every aspect of the team, you mean to tell me he can't control his wife?? LOL

Please..

His wife, who sits on her *** probably, shouldn't have any say where he should coach unless she is out doing something. I can't imagine life in Aleeebamuh would be much better. I mean..I can only imagine how rough it would be to live in a multi million dollar home on a lake while the husband/daddy rakes in all the money. Sounds pretty stressful..

I can understand not being happy with how he handled it, but at the time he made those statements he was the head coach of the Dolphins, he hadnt made a final decision yet, and if Im not mistaken press conferences are required by the NFL...If he had come out and said he was considering taking the Alabama job, he would have been blasted just as hard by 95% of the people here. But more importantly, if he had decided to stay in Miami, and said he was considering quitting how would that have worked in the lockeroom, the stadium, and the front office?

All very good points above. Even the ones that contradict each other.

If the guy had a reason for splitting, fine. I mean, besides the $. I think he could have saved a lot of face by not lying for the past month.

And yeah, I agree, this is the best possible time for him to leave.

I very much agree with your post except you missed one key point in your analogy. Your Mom wouldn't tell you that Dad's gone.... she'd call you and you'd hear that Dad was gone.... on a speaker phone.

In my opinion, very cowardly exit. I would have expected much more from him.

Anyway.... life goes on...

Go Dolphins!

Ok, I'm by no stretch of the imagination going to be a Saban apologist, but I do know Saban is a strong Christian man, and I have a feeling his wife is too and maybe Miami just isn't where they wanted to be. They may prefer a small town to a big city. And with all seriousness, there are more important things in life than football. Maybe, and I'm not saying that is what happened, but maybe Saban's wife wasn't happy and he decided that was more important than football. But I think it's pretty classless to start bad-mouthing the man's wife. Grow up.

That being said, **** Nick Saban for lying to everyone. If the Christian thing really is the reason for this he certainly scored some God points by lying to everyone for three weeks before he made the decision.

And as to why he wouldn't say it was a family thing publically? Hello, it IS his family, would you publically air your family issues so that *******s could rip them apart on web-boards and in the media alike? Didn't think so.

Let me know when you find the "real" reason why he left.In the mean time he ran back to College for the money, and he lied to the fans and the organization.I M H O!!!!

I am a little shocked/upset because it feels as if we are starting over again. I was hoping on build on what we had and now it feels as if we have to drop the defensive scheme and start from sratch with someone eles's players. I am not upset with Saban just the situation it now puts us in. Another three to four years until we reach max potential.

I don't have a problem with him lying. Would you rather he pull a Jim Mora Jr and say "if Alabama offered me the job I'd be there in a heartbeat" Don't give me this crap about being pissed about the way he left. You all are just pissed because he left.

When I look for a new job, I don't go around telling everybody that my boss has access to (like the media), or my boss for that matter, that I'm seriously interested in another job. Once you let that cat out of the bag, there is no going back. I have no problem with how Saban handled himself, and I think it was professional.

IMO, everybody is just being a crybaby about this. I don't necessarily wish Saban success, but I wouldn't get pleasure out of seeing him fail in Alabama. I'd be more pissed if I was an LSU fan since he actually succeeded there.

This is how I feel, it sucks that his decision will set us back another 2-3 years, but Im not gonna come on here and call him every name in the book, and sling mud at his family to boot...Some people just need to come to grips with the fact that there are things more important in life than football, and that no one on this board knows Saban or his family...A little maturity would go a long way for a situation like this...
