Everyone on this board is pretty much in agreement that Booker makes to much and needs to go and Derek "I left my hands in Arizona" Hagan is too inconsistent. We are also in agreement that we need a big wr that can compliment Ginn nicely. If we do not sign a free agent I believe this is the year that we could find our guy being theres height galore at the wr position. Heres just a list of guys I like.

1. James Hardy 6'7 220- People think he could go in the first I think that theres a chance he could be available at 32. I dont know if we will go WR at 32 but Ive been a fan of Hardy since he was a frosh and you gotta love his height

2. Limas Sweed 6'5 219- Was a lock as a 1st rounder then had to get surgery on an ailing wrist that caused him to miss most his senior year.

3. Malcolm Kelly 6'4 219- Committee says 2nd round, Coach told him 4th round. Scouts say 1st round. Has size thats why Im listing him if we dont trade down I doublt he will be available to us at 32

4. Devin Thomas 6'2 218- Not that tall but has good size and i just think hes gonna be special

5. Adarious Bowman 6'4 220- Has size and is a baller. He will drop some because of his speed but he can play football.

6. D.J. Hall 6'3 186
7. Jordy Nelson 6'3 217
8. Jerome Simpson 6'2'185
9. Marcus Monk 6'6 220
10. Mario Urrutia 6'6 220 (250-260 rumored)
11. Marcus Henry 6'4 210
12. Paul Hubbard 6'4 213
13. Justin Harper 6'4 219
14. Todd Blythe 6'5 209
15. Maurice Purrify 6'4 220

Not really any kind of order

I'm on the Roy Williams bandwagon. The dude's proven and still young. I'd trade the #32 pick for him, but only if we worked out a contract extension prior to the trade.

Heck, the Saints took Meachem with the #29 pick last year and he was inactive all season! I know that is an extreme situation, but still, Roy Williams is a proven commodity. He would help the development of both Beck (he's a big target) and Ginn (Williams would attract a double-team).

Tell me more about this Hardy kid. 6'7" is really big!

He's a biter....

I agree. I've been preaching the need for a big WR for a long time now and hopefully the FO can dissipate that need. I think Bowman has fair enough speed to go down the field and he's certainly my tab for a low 2nd rounder. On the field, Hardy's what we need. Teams will be scared by his previous domestic battery charge and unexplained 2 game suspension but if they do their homework and come prepared for interviews, shouldn't be too bad a factor. What will be the sole factor in the draft rankings for these big WR's will be their speed. 4.55 and under will almost absolutely be a must (unless you're 6'7).

Meachem was injured as I recall and NO already had a big target in Colston. I dunno if we'd trade for Roy Williams provided it's cheap.

Not sure the Lions would do this, but maybe to bring in Michigan's Jake Long, I was thinking something like:

Roy Williams and the Lions' first (15th I believe)

for

1st overall

Maybe some picks would need to be added to either side. Its just something that came up in my mind. I wasnt sure I would do it, or how fair it was for either side. But it is a possibility, because I dont see the regime losing a pick for a player. We need all the picks we can get.

Edit: They would most definitely need to add something now that I look at it. A 2nd, or a 3rd and a 4th. Would be a sweet deal.

I think the Bills will take Sweed or Kelly. I was reading Espn Insider and Hardy has character issues they say. I'm an A&M homer and would love Martellus Bennett but he's a "me" guy.

The biggest steal of this draft is Ernie Wheelwright, WR from MN, 6'5" 220 with great hands and the athleticism to go get the football anywhere near him.
This is a glaring example of the predjudice against midwest talent.
If Ernie can run a 4.5 at a pro-day or if he gets an invite to the combine there would be no reason not to draft him even as high as the 5th round.

NFLdraftscout.com

Big WR? How about James Rivers he was the 2nd most underrated player at NFLdraftscout.. He is 6-2 with a low time of 4.47, how big is big, and how fast is fast. Some have him going in the 4th some say 7th.

However he is not doing that well in practice at the Shrine game.

?? What is better in the SLOT position, small quick rcvrs like Wes Welker or large ones 6-4 etc. that are essentially mobile TE's?

I’d like to get Donnie Avery from Houston. He has a 4.28 40.
Team him up with 4.30 Ginn on the outside.

i'm hoping the big reciever we bring in will be one of the top te's in the draft..it would help us so much in the redzone. but speaking of wr..does anyone know what happened to the reciever out of texas tech? i believe his name is micheal crabtree..6'3 208..i believe he may have redshirted in 06.

That guy can PLAY.

I have us getting him as a UFA.

Speaking of FA's, these guys won't be drafted, but if we don't get a big guy and we are looking for one, we should sign them and check them out, good size and speed.

Justin Harper 6-4 4.35 Virginia Tech.

Lance Leggett 6-3 4.38 Miami

Patrick Harper 6-3 4.38 Louisville

I'm watching the E/W game and Harper just catch a pass.
