If you have been a Dolphins fan for at least 16 years you know what embarrassing is (103-140). Today we didn't have any expectations of a win, we aren't a playoff team with a future HOF Quarterback about to retire that lost 62-7. We aren't a team that lost its star running back due to a drug problem that lead to a 4-12 season. We aren't a team that had an eventual Greatest of All Time Coach abandon the team that lead to a 1-15 season (By the way... 1 win vs the Ravens). We aren't those teams anymore, but....

We are a team that decided to cut or trade talent so we couldn't be competitive. We are a team that is stacking draft picks and not making any illusions about it. We are a team that has a young coach, we are a team with alot of dead cap space that needs a year to clear. We are a team in a division with the most successful team over a 20 year period that will eventually run its course.. We are a team that is preparing for the future before the throne is empty with a return to the past.

Remember for over 20 years 1970-2003 we were a solid team that won more than we lost (354-203-2).

When we finish the season I hope we aren't on this list.
1960 Dallas Cowboys
1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1982 Baltimore Colts
2008 Detroit Lions
2017 Cleveland Browns

But if we are i want us putting another name on this list. It might not change the franchise... but the run we were on wasnt going to change the franchise either.

If we lose them all, fine... but i suspect we will win a few and draft a few building blocks that we need.

Losing isn’t the issue, it’s the manner in which we lost. Losing while still maintaining discipline, focus and teamwork gives hope for a swift rebuild. Losing while everything goes to **** does not. If talent was the only issue it wouldn’t be as bad.

But we have a raw coaching team and unfamiliar roster. Hopefully during the season they can gel and bond, and mould each other into some kind of cohesive unit with a combined focus that serves as the foundations for a good draft )which should have been what preseason was used for). Unfortunately it could just as easily go the other way and no amount of #1 picks will repair the cultural and psychological damage.
