We're at the top of the 4th today at 116. Haven't made a pick since early in round 2. Still have needs at S, CB, DT and OL.
On the board we have several good DBs like Ransom, Billy Bowman, Quincy Riley and OL like Miles Frazier and DTs like Joshua Farmer.

What does Grier do? He trades out w Texans for a 2026 third and a 6th. He needs players this year, he has gaping holes in this roster that he created. he either knows he's retiring next season or is so confident that he's safe or going to be kicked upstairs that he's teflon.
The value of getting a third rounder next year is a 4th rounder so what was the point? We get an extra 6th and give up one of our 7th's while letting another round worth of talent go off the board.

Full draft recap to come, like Gordon and I think Phillips but the DBs left me wanting more and once again, Grier did not maximize his 10 draft picks

The 2026 draft is expected to be much stronger at the quarterback position. Maybe that's part of the thinking. Get additional chips to trade up if need be.

It doesn't make sense if you throw everything out the window and completely disregard future implications....

Sadly this. Its going to take a couple drafts.
I hope this was Grier's last draft. I don't get or agree with his use of draft capital. Last night was good but I think he didn't read the strengths of this draft correctly. I don't think he maximized chances to make both lines and the secondary better.

I think you can look at a lot of team who picked after us and has fewer picks that did much better
He had Kyonte Hamilton and Korie Black in for visits and had chances to take them and didn't

Grier is thinking ahead to his 2026 draft. The haters should be concerned because Grier's making this move indicates he has job security beyond 2025.

We're stuck with Tua for another 2 seasons. We won't be able to commit to an actual full rebuild until we're out of his contract. Because of that, both Grier and probably McD will be here until the end of the 2026 season.

After the 26 season the team will have a new GM, coach, QB and a lot of new players.

Oh we are not? After the latest 5 year rebuild? We still need another rebuild from Grier?
This is the year he finally got it though! He deferred too much to others before! Like when he said they weren't concerned about offensive line.. that wasn't his opinion. He was just deferring to, Mike, the kid who runs the lemonade stand on his street. So you can set aside everything that has come before and just embrace that Grier is genius. No need to question anything.

You're never stuck with anyone. There is always a way out of a contract in the NFL. They can take the cap hit and deal with the dead money if they really wanted to. If you're rebuilding/retooling, might as well have a down year where you can get the top pick anyway. The mistake they made in 2019, was not hiring a real GM.

With Grier, we could be saying the same thing in 2030, while we are also saying the Dolphins haven't won a playoff game in 30 years. At some point you have to admit that you don't have the right guy running the show. Maybe It is Ross running everything and Grier is just a puppet. So maybe will be waiting until 2030 before we see some light at the end of the tunnel.
