No injuries
1st string looked great
Oline looked good
Fred evans may be for real
All Rb's looked good
Just to name a few

With all the hype, this kinda brings the players back to earth. I guarantee you that Saban will get the DB's on the same page within the last 3 preseason games. Yes there are 3 more games to put it all together.

Dont worry.

Ronnie looked awsome and the offense was sharp as was the first team defense

Listen, this loss does nothing to the confidence of the players. It's the first preseason game. All it does is give us some film to look at in preparation for our next game and give our players some live game experience against another team.

Fred Gibson looks good 3 receptions for 84 yrds and 1 td.....not bad at all....Joey Harrington had a hell of a game with 0 ints thats a start....marcus vick was quiet tonight but looks good in miami uniform they need to use him more on offense and special teams....Fred Evans looks like we stole him away in the draft nice pick up....Culpepper looks good im glad he got a feel for the miami offense for atleast a couple plays so he can stay healthy....even though we lost if culpepper stayed in the whole game we would of won garuntee that lol.....but its only preseason....its good to see who is doing well and who isnt....Eddie Jackson had a nice int....the corners look a little shakey to me though....and jason allen was silent tonight....

Missed my point. Every player in the locker room knows there is alot of work to do. This is good for them.

Jax had some injuries, twisted ankles and such so yes, this game dont mean much at all and our first teamers would not have let them make those big plays as much. J Allen just got here and that will be a problem in the early going.

Just from following along on NFL.COM Gamecenter, it looked like there were several encouraging performances. Evans was definately one. I know it's only 1st game but seemed like Kay-Jay, Gibson, Russell, and Eddie Jackson are making their cases as well.

The thing that I don't understand is, I know its the first pre-season game, but all of the blitzes on 3rd down. I mean that last long TD to #87 George Wrightster, I don't think I have ever seen someone that wide open. They blitzed 7 guys. I have the game TIVOed and I am going to go back and look but they blitzed a lot on 3rd down.

Our 2nd and third string guys need a lot off work. To me Jason Allen just looked lost out there. The First 2 long TDs, the one to Matt Jones was blown coverage I think Allen thought he had help over the top. The one to Chad Owens Jason Allen took the underneath guy Cortez Hankton and Hankton was doubled.

J. Allen had what 3-4 practices? Newman was beat for one of those TDs, a LB that is set for depth at best. This is the first game , and the starting secondary looked good, not that it will be our opening day starters but it looks like our LBs got beat more than our DBs. We still need to work on giving up those big plays, that will kill us in the regular season,

We'll be ready come Sept 7th.

Your right. At least we know our weakness and Saban & Co. can get on it quick. They will improve. I'm not worried.

ESPN highlight looked like Will Allen was beat on Matt Jones TD though. Of course I didn't see it live but if he was that's our projected starter. Anyone who saw the game, please let us know who was getting beat the most on the big plays.

If you look at the stat line alone we had 10(?) more first downs, more total yardage, more rushing yards, fewer penalties......I think the majority of their scores were on second teamers and more then a few were on long pass plays. I point that out because the defense was vanilla and when you get burned on a long pass play it is usually a busted defensive scheme and is fixable with repetition. I think our first teams looked great and our quarter backs really impressed me. Being from Oregon, i have watched Harrington a lot and take away those two fumbles on snaps, (again, fixable with repetition), he looked closer to the college player i watched then at any time in his NFL career. I didnt get a chance to see Cleo or Brock but stats were impressive. First pre-season game was successful i would say.
