Won't happen. It should, but why waste the effort and bandwidth?
 
This would be stupid.

New GM might as well trade RT and go get his QB and start all over.

Screwing the current players who will help take this team to the next level.
 
There are GM candidates all over the league jumping at the chance to work Joe Philbin.

Then we sign a GM or Promote Gaine and they have no authority what so ever

So much for that coveted Miami Dolphin GM spot

No GM of any experience will come in here, coach in place, and put there neck out on the line.

Ireland may have the last laugh by "mutually agreeing to leave" because he was being stripped of his power

But after seeing the fiasco that has ensued......any candidate is going to want complete control or their destiny
 
What it means is it has to be someone that is tight with Aponte and has worked with her in a prior capacity….Tannebaum, Mangini or Gaine.

Those names are not news flashes, but those tossing names around from around the league and the idea this is a plum job…they are way off.

If Phailbin survives he's on a one year leash by the new GM. Bank it.
 
Philbin is highly regarded throughout the league and new GM would love to have him as a coach. Let alone, the fact that there's a built in excuse to dump the coach after one year if not successful.
 
I really don't have a problem with Philbin getting one more year under a new GM. But I want it up to the new GM if he stays or go after the one year.
