I know many people were not pleased with the last performance from the offense but I am ecstatic about this offense. Why you ask, after the first team offense didn't score one TD? As a football coach I'm evaluating and watching these games a little differently than the casual fan. And what I saw was an offense that from my recollection has not had 1 3 and out this entire pre-season. Compared to the last several years, that alone is reason for applause.

This offense seems to move the ball at will and was only stopped by uncommon mistakes. One drive we're moving the ball pretty well and Dion Sims fumbles fighting for extra yardage (happens to the best of em) On another drive, Brian Hartline drops an easy pass that would have resulted in a first down. And we all saw the terrible INT tannehill threw. I'm not sure he even attempts that throw in a game that counts.

Those are all things that can and do happen to the best teams. What I was looking for this preseason is signs that this new Lazor offense actually works. Does it create mismatches? Does it get people open BY DESIGN and not rely on the skills of each player to create separation. And from everything I've seen this pre-season I'm going to have to say yes. Now what I want to see is our players making the play when it comes to them. They don't have to be Dez Bryant's or Lesean McCoy's (Although that would be great) But Tannehill needs to make the throws, receivers need to make the catches and running backs need to hit the holes and hard and hold on to the ball.

We do that and i think we make the playoffs, and in the next couple of years if we can find some game changers at key positions I think we can contend for a Title.

Yup... I agree.. the offense will be ok.. not great, not spectacular.. but ok... The defense however... they spend too much time on the field and that is my concern

If they are set on starting wheeler, i hope they use him more like they did against Dallas, let him blitz and that's it, he seemed to be pretty good at that. I think our DL and secondary up there with best of em though.

I think the offense will be fine...they still got some kinks to work out, it's a new offense to everyone and I think they will be fine come regular season. You can tell lazor has an attacking mentality to his play calling. I'm not too worried about the offense not scoring vs Dallas because you could tell we were trying to run the ball a lot more early on. I think they wanted to see where we stood in the running game with the starting group of backs n lineman.

I agree. Clay is going to be a beast this year, Moreno is going to be as well. I think wheel routes and releases by Moreno will work in our favour. I also think Ryn running even a little is going to keep the DEs honest which can always add a yard or two. I think Rollouts will become part of this offense as well which is going to be great. I think the pass pro is so much better but we will have some real tests the first three weeks of the season. I'm hoping the coaching staff realizes that Jordan should lsoe 10lbs and become our SAM lb and blitzing. Let Shelby be the 3rd DE, with Vernon moving inside on passing downs and Jordan moving up to DE. I think Tripp will end up on the field before the end of the year as well as Turner at LG. I think we have some talent and will move the ball. If we can be 2-2 or a fantastic 3-1 going into the bye and we get back Jones, Jordan and Pouncey after that we could be looking real good.
