Not to say the words Richie chose were appropriate, but what was the intent behind the statement? What was the context in which the statement was made? Who saves old text messages like this without an agenda? I can guarantee during the course of game, many worst statements have been made. Are refs going to start throwing flags for threatening or racial statements made on the field? This ridiculous! You really think that in a locker room full of grown men of many different races, if there was truly racially motivated harassment, Richie's a$$ wouldn't have been handed to him. Seems to me, especially if the rumors of the NFL being sued by Martin's family are true, this has been a plan to make history and if Martin wasn't on the Fins, there would've been another "bully" on which ever team Martin ended up on.

That's the problem. So many people think this was a text message because no one has HEARD the voicemail. You can only tell so much by a transcript, especially when the people reading it are reading it in a negative tone, emphasizing the buzz words...

Martin is unhappy playing football. this is his way to get out of football a rich man. he's a b@#$h

It really doesn't matter, because anyone who has been bullied and lots have - are out for blood in a strange twist of revenge - no one is asking any other questions because people cannot get their heads around the locker room culture where "boys will be boys" - for those who suggest RI was out to kill Martin need to look at the motivation - there is none

Martin's camp has put this team in a no win situation. I'm proud to see the leaders of this team speaking up and the how they are handling this circus.

Ricky Williams "How is bullying something that's even mentioned regarding the NFL?" Williams wondered. "Because that's kind of what we're taught to do -- at least on the field -- is to bully the guy across from us so we can win the football game.

"It's kind of what we're subjected to on a day-to-day basis that most people will never be able to understand. ... What we're required to do physically, mentally and emotionally for the course of a season is astronomical -- it's amazing," Williams added. "And I'm not saying that it's bad. I'm saying it just really speaks to what it takes to be a professional football player. And to me there's no room to play the victim or to be bullied or to even have that discussion when it comes to the NFL. If you're having that discussion, it just means that maybe you don't belong in the NFL."
