This FO is more than a breath of fresh air for us - it's a full-fledged oxygen tent. Although not perfect, and deserving of criticism several of its moves have provoked, putting it into a better perspective of what could have been and in fact was during the Spielstadt tenure, here's Rick striking again:

In response to the public lamentations of Vikings coach Brad Childress that fullback Thomas Tapeh didn’t disclose to the team that he had knee surgery only weeks before inking a big-money (for fullbacks) deal with the team, a league source opines that the Vikings knew or should have known about it.
Didn’t they give the kid a physical?” the source asked. “If they didn’t then they were stupid and if they did and they couldn’t figure out that he had recent knee surgery then somehting is definitely wrong. It’s pretty easy to figure out a guy had recent surgery.”

Ok but that still doesn't merit the praise they get on here by some people. In just five games, when quite frankly there are areas they could have addressed in the off-season to improve from the last several years and they didn't. This FO is a vast improvement from last year, but this team could be a legitimate contender if they'd not left the DB field alone, and thought Ernest Wilford was a viable option at WR.

I'd think they could still get out of the contract depending on the language of the contract if there was some disclosure issue. But, point taken. That's a stumblebum for ya.

There still a few hours before the trade deadline...get him on the phone...we could get a few #1s from them for Ginn and Hagan...:sidelol:
