Currently, there is nobody out there, NOBODY, that REALLY REALLY wants the Miami job. Absolutely nobody.

Nobody has flat out said, "I want this job", like Petrino did for the Falcons [saying that it's the best job in the NFL] and Whisenhunt did for Arizona [saying that the talent on the team has great potential and he is highly interested] and with Pittsburgh, saying he loves working with Roethlisberger. Nobody has put up a great interview for this job, nobody is really fighting for it.

And that's why it sucks. That's why some of us are mad about the candidates. We don't have a real winner to take the job, just decent candidates, but you don't know if you're going to get a long term solution from these guys, you just don't know what they have to bring in the table long term.

And that's what this coaching search is about. To get a long term solution, to find a true successor of Don Shula. Could it be Jim Mora Jr.? Chan Gailey? Mike Shula? I'm not sure, nobody here should be. These are decent coaches, but nothing about them really jump out. They certaintly can't be the best candidates for the job, I think we can do much better than this.

If we have to wait another week to see who gets eliminated from the playoffs and search for new candidates to interview from those teams, or wait a month for the Super Bowl to be done with, and search for candidates from those teams, then so be it.

I just don't want to rush this process and pick up some leftover.

I think Mora's gone on record that he really wants this job.

"im in it to win it" i think were his exact words.

I recently read that Jim Mora Jr really wants the job.

Jim Mora, Chan Gailey and Mike Shula REALLY want this job. The problem is that none of them really excite any of us, with the exception of maybe 10 fans total.

wait wait wait. I need to say this. Wayne is prepared to give any head coach who comes in here MILLIONS of dollars. They ALL want this job. It's about who the front office wants.

NFL Network (Adam S) stated that Mora has started to put together a staff in the event that he is chosen

We should hire Mike Sherman. Or at least interview the guy.

Call me nostalgic if you want, But Mike Shula feels something for the team that no other HC will feel....... Saban coud be a Genius but he never felt anything for the team besides the 4.5 mill he got every year.....

This was just shot down on The Dolphin Show, 790am w/Cefalo & Joe Bailey.

They said Mora hasn't been offered the job and while people have ideas about who they might want to bring aboard if they got the job, they didn't know anything about him assembling a staff. They kind of chuckled and dismissed it.

Seems to me that Mora is the only guy who REALLY REALLY wants it, or at least he's the first and only one to openly express that to the press. The quote about Dom Capers remaining the DC pretty much says that he'd do anything to get the job.....

Probably because of the QB situations in the three teams. I mean, Matt Leinart? No problem. Vick + Schaubb? Wow, what potential. Injured Culpepper + Lemon & Harrington? little chance to get another good one in free agency, and the draft is a crap shoot? NO thanks. Good QB makes coach look good, bad QB makes Coach look bad. We have almost no talent on the offensive side of the ball, that's the problem...

Are you F_ing kidding?!? Every coach hopeful is salivating over the Miami job. Anyone who thinks Mora declined the job is a joke. This is a highly coveted job with a storied franchise, an owner that gives carte blanche authority, a very good defense, and an offense with decent enough talent.
