This team NEEDS to get mentally Stronger!

I agree that the team needs to get more mentally tough. We tried as hard as we could to blow it on that last play. If dude hadn't stepped out of bounds this entire forum would be screaming " We blew it in the 4th..again ".

We found a way to win on a chitty day, on the road, with our playoff life on the line. Might have been by a couple of inches, but it's a win.

Now we're down to defining the mental state of the team on the basis of one play.

How do you as a coaching staff allow your players to give up score after score right after we have capitalized?
How do you as a coaching staff allow your players to celebrate and half-ass it on the field in those critical last seconds?

:bobdole::err: Look around the league... scores happen right after teams score all the time... We did it a few times yesterday. That's football.

Who was half-assing on that last play? D-Linemen were down the field with Rothlisberger when he lateraled to Brown. Pittsburgh made plays, and the Dolphins made mistakes. Should it have been that close? No. But those plays happen and it doesn't necessarily mean we were half-assing it.

? In how everyone's not swarming the ball and protecting the area of the field when there's Steelers everywhere? That gif is not incriminating as you think.

Defending a play like that, it's not about all-out hustle and swarming the ball. It's about positioning and covering the field. Imagine if all 4 linemen jumped on Rothlisberger as he's passing it. We'd be even more ****ed than we were.

I see guy's being cautious more than anything. You might be right, I might be right... but it's assumptions on both of our parts.

You wanna talk about questioning mental toughness? Look at last years dolphins or the year before. When we used to be down in points in a game, that would be it, we'd basically give up...you could see it in the way they used to play.

But NOW? NOW? This a the most resilient Dolphins I've seen in a long time, Using yesterday as an example, NOW, when we're down we're nowhere near out of the game. Steelers went up 7-0 on us we answered. Steelers Scored a PICK 6 on us, we answered. Steelers take the lead from us, we answered back and won in 20 degree weather AT Heinz field. If that's not mental toughness I don't know what is!
