Well, another year goes by but this is a different year for me.I lost my father this year(agu-15)so this will be the first time for me not to have my dad with me on new years day.We had a tradition to watch some of the Bowl games on january 1 and now new years will never be the same for me.But I know I'm not the only one who has lost a loved one.I think this is a good time for those of us who have lost somebody to just take some time and remember them.I know I think about my father every single day and I know we'll always remember those people close to us who are no longer here. This is your chance to share with us about those people that are now gone, tho they will always be here with us.In the end, family is the most important thing for us.Thanks dad for teaching me about football(and soccer,go Italy)and for all the good memories, for all the games we watched together, for all the times we talked about which team had the best looking cheerleaders... ;) ...thanks dad, for being my dad.I miss you and love you everyday.May you be close to God and I know you're watching over me.On this day and everyday,I remember you!!

Yeah this year was kinda rough on me as well. My wife delivered a still born,my grandmother and my aunt all died in a span of two months this year. But if anything it made me stronger and we just had a perfect baby boy on Dec. 23rd. So everything is looking better for 2006. Except for my canes.

You got an awesome early Christmas present, then. Congratulations on your baby boy and please refrain from ever mentioning the Peach Bowl again.

i'm sorry about your loss: i lost my dad in 2002 and it still doesn't seem real. the pain does subside as time goes by, but it's tough to know that he's never going to call again, etc... it's always good to honor his memory. good thread. "to our dads..." and also "to anyone who has lost someone..."

Sorry to hear about your mom. After losing my father I can find some confort that I still have my mom and I know she's having a hard time dealing with it...they had been together 49 years....(it was gonna be 50 on my b-day-feb-17)and I have to be strong for her.You need to be strong and know that she's watching over you.

Wow, thats one of the nicest and sincerest statements I have ever read on this board or anywhere else.

May God bless each and everyone of you!

I know what you guys have went through. At the end of 1999 my dad was admitted to a hospital and ended up passing away the first week of January 2000. Life has been tough, but I think it has also made me a stronger person. Thanks dad for teaching me to love the Dolphins along with all sports and for showing me how to get the most out of life. It is ashame that God takes our great parents, family, and friends while there are some horrible people living a life they don't deserve. My condolences to all you have lost a loved one. I think it is fitting that Marino never played another game after my dad's death. I know my dad is still rooting for the fins from above though! GO FINS!!!
