In this thread, I'll give out 11 awards, some good, some bad, and some like Reggie Howard.
Feel Good Story: Emergence of the R&R Express- After last season, it was depressing to see one of the best running games fastly turn into one of the worst running games in the league. In a surprising move, Nick Saban welcomed Ricky Williams back and drafted Running Back Ronnie Brown with the second overall pick. It's easy to say now that we'lll have one of the best running games for lots of years to come.
Runner Up- Late 6-Game Winning Streak.
Saddest Story: Death of Former Punter Reggie Roby- Even thought I never saw Reggie play, he was described as the best punter in Miami Dolphins history. It's always a sad moment when a Dolphin passes away.
Runner Up- Tim Bowens battle with back injuries and retirement.
Best Free Agent Pick-Up: Vetern D-Line- With the help of Kevin Carter, Vonnie Holliday, and Keith Traylor. They helped make one of the best pass rushes in Dolphins history. They had a combined 13 sacks. (Carter 6, Holliday 5, Traylor 20.
Runner Up- Safety Lance Schulters
Worst Free Agent Pick Up: Stocklar McDougle- Two words, Penalty Machine.
Runner Up- Cornerback Mario Edwards
Best Play: Ronnie Brown's 60+ Yard TD against the Chiefs- On this play, Ronnie showed his combonation of speed and strength and he jacked up Greg Wesley.
Runner Up- Chris Chambers' last second game winning TD over the Bills.
Best Performance: Chris Chambers against the Bills at home- He had 15 catches, 238 yards, and the game winning touchdown. This win gave us the motivation to win the next 4 games.
Runner Up-Sage Rosenfels vs. Bills at home.
Most Improved Player: The starting O-Line- Last year the O-line was the worst part of our team. Even thought we had no new starters, the lie greatly improved. Much of it can be credited to the O-line coach Hudson Houck. The Fins ranked high in sacks given up, but can still improve on run blocking.
Runner Up- Punt Team
Most Dissappointing Player: David Boston- It can be heavily argued that Reggie Howard deserves this award, but Reggie did makes some plays and wasn't expected to be a great corner. With David, he had no production at all while he was expected to be a great reciever with Chambers and Booker. He also had steriod problems and din't seem to put much effort into plays.
Runner Up- Reggie Howard.
Worst Game: Week 11 Shutout against the Browns- There's nothing much to say about this game. It made us a 3-7 team. Probably the most depressing time to be a Fins fan. But fortunetly, that's our most recentloss.
Runner Up- Week 10 heatbreaker to the Pats.
Best Game: Week 13 win over the Bills- After the first half, it was shamefully the Losman and Evans show. But in the 2nd half with Rosenfels and Chambers connecting and a key goal line interception by Sam Madison. The Dolphins had one of their best comeback wins 24-23.
Runner Up- Week 1 win over the Donkeys.
Most Valueable Player: Chris Chambers, Jason Taylor, and Zach Thomas- It's very hard to pick one player over the other, but they all deserved it. Zach and Jason improved from last year and showed that they haven't lost a step. Chris in the second half showed he's worthy of being a number 1 receiver. Chris had his first 1000 yard season and 11 touchdowns. Jason had 12 sacks. And Zach had over 150 tackles. All of them made the Pro-Bowl too.
Runner Up- Too many people to decide from.
