Just wondering did anyone stop and think WHY we did not take a OLB?
Did you ever CONSIDER that NONE of them that Kiper or Mayock or any other draft expert said was a 1round talent or 2nd round talent just MIGHT NOT have been.

Guys there is a reason why Barwin and Maluaga and Brown and Sitim slipped as far at they did. They did not have the value to be selected that high. In this draft maybe they are 1-2 round values but on teh big scale they are not.

NE need LB's just as much or worse then we do. They where so depleated last year that they signed Colvin off the streets to play last year. Brusci is a stroke away from ending his life on the field. they trade away Vrable to KC Thomas is coming off of a knee surgery and so is Pier Woods. The Only LB that they have with no issues is a 2nd year rookie Mayo.

Did you notice they traded away there 1st round pick with all the guys above still avail including mathiews they took a safty with there 1st pick in the second. Still all those guys still on the board. they trade up and take Brace which by the way is a reach there (some of youe are talking about reaches and comparing kipers and mayouck board) then with the 3rd 2nd pick they took a corner.

So since you don't want to give this FO credit maybe you would give the cheaters FO credit. There was just no talent there to take.


Side not there are pleanty of talks out there that the Pats wanted White. There is no way in the world that he would have made it back around to Miami. again since you want to bad mouth this front office maybe you would give credit to another teams FO.

Parcells is said tyo be in search of the next Lawrence Taylor and it is likely he didn't see a guy like that in this year's draft. Maybe he thinks Roth can become that good(probably not), or maybe he really likes Cameron Wake. Anyways, our outside linebackers are not that bad. We are trying to find someone to eventually take over for Porter and right now help compliment him. Hopefully for the time being Roth continues to develop and Wake can contribute some.

yea i dont understand everyones dying need for an OLB. the only reason i would want another one that would be able to compete for the starting job would be if Wake was a bust. I really do think hes gunna be good. therefor i think we have 3 starting OLB not bad. its really the interior i worry about. I like crowder but having him as our best ILB is iffy. If we had stud starting opposite him we would have one of the better LB cores in the league IMO.

maybe you are right...but you are assuming too much. Maybe they had Paul Kruger pegged for the 56th pick and thought they could trade down a few spots and still get him, and it backfired on them. None of us really know. Maybe they thought Sintim would be there at #56...maybe they would have taken him if he was....we will never know.

I agree. Just because the kipers of the world rank a lb high doesn't mean he fits the needs of a specific team / system.

I expect the fins & the Pats will find a few prospects among the UDFA's that they feel will be better options than most of the '09 class. Thats how the Pats found guyton last year.

I'm guessing there wasn't anybody that they really liked or thought would be better than what we have or could get after the draft. So let's just wait and cut them some slack. We got Wake, we can get JT if we want and there are guys like Hill (from Sea) we are starting to come available if we want. So I think we are better off than we are giving the FO credit for.

The only people saying we would take an OLB on the 1st day were the same wannabe GM's that can talk all day about the draft, but can't seem to understand what we are doing on draft day,now that the drunken monkeys have been kick out of our front office.

NE needs an edge rusher just as bad or worse then we do the leading sacker on the team was Seymore with 8 everyone else averaged 2 each (FYI not good for a DE to lead your teams in sacks when you run a 3-4 defesne built con pressure from the LB) (FACT) they pased on all the "franchise edge rushers"

MIA needs an edge rusher bad other then Porter the rest of the defesne average 2 sack each (FACT) Mia passed on a "franchise edge rusher"

i agree with you.... i wasnt looking at many, if any, OLB at all..... i am still wondering though why we really didnt go for an ILB though mid-to-late rounds... Jason Phillips was there for us many times throughout those rounds..... i am not big on Akin at all. I need someone playing with instincts and getting into the backfield next to Crowder!!!
