Agreed that an all defensive draft would be the thing to do. Biggest problem on this team, which has many, is a defense which has a talent deficit on all three levels, especially the back seven.
Would go corner, LB DE. Go best available for at least first 4 rounds. Think corner has become the #1 need as even when run defense is playing reasonably well ALL Miami corners are capable of being abused by bigger (who isn't?) and more physical receivers.
Every team in division is built to move the ball on us. We need faster LB's who can cover better and make more plays against run game and bigger corners.
I'd love to stock up on a number of SEC defenders like LB Reggie Ragland, LB Kentrell Brothers, CB Vernon Hargreaves and DE Johnathan Bullard, LB Jordan Jenkins Also love FSU's S Jalen Ramsey
I think we're going to have to cut Misi, Cameron, Jennings, McCain (Brice) the god awful Jason Fox and Dallas Thomas and bring in a number of low cost free agents to fill in G and TE spots. Maybe a veteran RB if Lamar Miller goes. There's no point in keeping around decent vets like Misi who are just OK but make tons of money. Cut them and the mounds of dead wood that weigh this team down. No more Damien Williams or Walt Aikens who have both proven allergic to smart plays.
The best hope for change is to bring in a veteran coach who has some offensive expertise who can get Tannehill on a more consistent, positive flow and fix this sieve of an OL. I'm sorry but the high draft picks and free agent dollars spent on OL again is a pipe dream and won't work. The team needs a Sean Payton or Hue Jackson who can develop schemes that can make use of some pretty decent talent on offense.
I'm pissed at Tannehill right now but also realize we're stuck with him for at least 2 more years and think he has enough toughness and talent to be a better player under the right coach. Campbell ain't that guy. Not his fault that he inherited a soft, over-rated club that has no identity. Campbell's schtick as a motivator isn't good enough to drag this team out of mediocrity. They need someone who can fix the damage Philbin and Lazor have inflicted on this team.
