What's up with him? Here's a player who put up back-to-back 1,000 yard recieving performances some seasons ago, now he can't even crack the slot reciever position? As a starter in Arizona he put up fantastic numbers, leading the NFL in recieving yards at one point (1,598 in 2001), and making a Pro Bowl appearance. Boston also showed promise with the Chargers, posting 880 yards and 7 TD's in his only season there. In 2004 he was sent to Miami where he sustained a dissapointing season ending injury in his much anticipated (by myself at least) debut. Now he is back and appears to be healthy. He's got the speed, he's got the strength, and he has got the experience, so why hasn't he gotten more playing time? Well for one, Miami is currently stacked with talent at the reciever position with Chris Chambers and Marty Booker leading the pack, along with the impressive emergence of specialist Wes Welker. Secondly, the Dolphins lack a Quarterback, let's face it: Gus Frerotte isn't getting it done. A weak Offensive line to compliment a faulty QB can be a recievers worst statistical nightmare. However, despite these major impediments, Boston has shown improvement in the last few weeks, recieving praise from Coach Saban during practice and making a 54 yard reception this week against New Orleans. So to all you Boston fans out there, including myself, there is still hope! Check out Boston in action..

boston hasn't proved to be any better or any worse than what we have at receiver. At this point i don't think it matters. and Im sure saban doesn't either. None of our receivers are stars, in fact it would really help them if all the receivers started acting like a group of no names, rather than trying to break away from the pack.

Im happy Boston stepped it up, but he needs to stay healthy and he needs to give it his all in football, just like he does when lifting weights.

Can anyone confirm if he came in ANY OTHER play after he got that 54 yard reception? Was he in any other plays after that? I know he wasn't thrown to and I didn't see him at all after that, did anyone?

During his big years in Arizona he had a mentor in his WR coach, Sullivan... Sullivan was our WR coach when we accquired David from SD. He's now having to overcome having no mentor (he's rumored to be high maintenance), needing to get his confidence back in his knees, and fighting to earn time on the playing field... But he seems to keep working at it. And made the most of the 54 yard reception... fumble aside...

boston is coming off a injury that i know speaking from experience that it takes time he is making strides and he will make alot of plays for us in the near future.

I think it still has alot to do with him just getting his confidence back from his injury. He still looks a little timid when he's cutting outside off his knee.

Hard to determine that with a QB as inaccurate as Gus. Linehan's offense also attempts to push the ball downfield, which requires more accurate throws from the QB. In a dink and dunk attack I think our WR's would have a lot more catches.

I still don't think he's healthy and that's a big reason why. He also had a somewhat better QB throwing him the ball in Arizona with Plummer.

I agree. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I've noticed several plays this year - and in preseason - where Bsoton got wide open and beat his coverages, only to watch one of Gus' crappy throws sail 10 yards over his head.

I think many of our WRs would look a whole lot better if, for half the times they got wide open on deep patterns and crossing routes, a ball would actually hit them in stride.

Accuracy and I Rot Frerotte mix like oil and water.
