I saw him play a few time and always saw him around the ball.I know there r tons of gator fans on here so tell me what do you think about him and what round would could u see him getting drafted in...also do u think he could fit into the phins plans...

i love him. mock drafts have him going in the late first round

with a good combine he can easily bump himself into being the top safety chosen its going to be him or landry

I know we're already solid at S, but if we were to take a DB I'd LOVE it to be Nelson. He's fast, rangy, a ball-hawk, has good field awareness, and hits like a freight train. IMO, I think if guys like Joe Thomas or JaMarcus Russell are off the board at 9, I'd like to see us take Nelson and move Jason Allen to CB full time.

I think hes more hype than anything but hes solid i would say early 2nd round i just dont see him 1st after coming out early. now if he stayed in college and played like he did this last year i would say top 15 in the first round next year!

LaRon Landry is probably a better fit (and possibly more talented). Since he's from LSU, he should enjoy some of the same advantage as Travis Daniels in adapting to the Miami D...if Landry falls that far. Who knows, maybe someone like the Texans pick him up?

Also, the Phins have a lot of decent DBs already, including safeties.

if nelson was there in the 2nd rd and u were the phins...would u draft him ? also would u convert him to cb like some 1 proposed or no ?

No way he drops to the second round. He will be gone by the 1st round. He has great range and covers so much of the field due to his speed and athletic ability. Not to mention he is always around the ball and makes big plays.

I think both Landry and Nelson are 1st rounders. Landry is top 10, and I suspect Nelson is top 25.

Rumor is a potential trade down with Denver (swapping #9 with #21 and picking up either 1st in 2008 plus a mid 2007, or multiple 2007 picks). Denver would move up to grab Hall to replace their unfortunate CB situation.

Either way, If that was to happen, I think passing up Landry by trading out of #9, where we still can get Nelson @ #21 overall would be ideal!

couldnt have said better myself

Now that Brohm isnt coming out this seems like a more and more viable option all depends on the combine tho.

Reggie Nelson has playmaking abilities that remind me of Ed Reed. He flies to the ball and anticipates where the ball is going to be. He is either right there with a ball-jarring hit or an INT. I wouldn't mind the idea of moving Jason Allen to CB, but couldn't we have a tandem of Allen and Nelson? Just move one of those guys to a SS position...Nelson?

I just wish we had taken Cromartie, man, damn........

That Jason Allen pick changes my views of taking a safety in the first. I don't see us going back-to-back with safeties. I really do like Nelson though. I think he has game changing abilities on the other side of the ball.
