I was just thinking about this. I see all of these posts about CBS Sportline said this, John Clayton said..., Prisco said....Mort said...Joe Blow said...etc..
What is the percentages on these guys being right? How often do they get anything right? I would venture to say well less than 50% of the time and probably closer to 25% of the time. We hear how bad we'll be from one "expert" we hear how we've improved from another "expert" and we hear some "experts" criticizing Saban while others praise him. Some "experts" say we've had the best off season, some say we've had the worst - or close to it. Some say we are a year away, some say three, some say we could be competitive this year. So what is the correct answer....?
NOONE knows. We (alot of us) on this board are just as close to being right as the so called experts that we find ourselves depending upon for information and insight. They get paid alot of money for what we do on this board constantly: Speculate. These experts are about as reliable as weather men.
I don't suppose there is any moral to this post. I guess the main thing is I am taking more of a wait and see approach. I, like almost everyone here, have been a Dolphin fan all my life and I have never thought Miami would be BAD. They have let me down with losing records twice in my life time. Last year, of course, was one of them. The other was in 1988 (I believe). So as of now, I am thinking like I always think: Miami will succeed in 2005. I don't care what all those "experts" say....
