Vernon, see you later. constant bone head plays this year. To have to give him 15 million per year, would have been dumb. Mario williams at 8 million per is way, way better of a deal. Half the price, he will have a better year than vernon next year.

On the trade going from 8 to 13 in the first and picking up 2 starters, it is a no Brainer. 5 spots for 2 starters. We needed to get starters. We needed a LB and we need a corner. Grimes stupid ass wife cost him his job. Grimes is 33.

We need to bring back wake, cut earl mitchell. Sign Paul Solai.

I think we should trade down again in the draft and take a gamble on the LB from Norte Dame. He will slide in the draft and if we can pick up an extra 3rd for taking a shot on him it makes sense.

Lb from notre dame? As in jaylon Smith that isnt even suppose to go in the first two rounds? Sounds like a great value pick to pick up a third. Hell we can probably select jaylon with our third

Happy about Mario, see you around Vernon. OK with the trade as long as Byron and Kiko are healthy.

Now hire some OL talent please. PLEASE!

Shock us all & resign Miller! We can afford it

I think we are paying the price dearly for Suh and Tannehill. Was giving all that money even needed? Should have just picked up the option on Tannehill...........................so with that said, we got deals for players that may have some baggage, at better prices and terms. But here surfaces the problem....for Miami to compete with other teams for OL and LB and CB, they will have to pony up. They will also have to make more cuts and restructures to get more players in, because the roster lacks talent.

Four things have to happen for us to succeed.
#1. The cap keeps increasing enough to help absorb Suh's contract
#2. We have to get lucky at QB, and soon. Having an elite qb enables a team to draft and sign cheaper, younger players. It's amazing that the holes you thought you had, really don't exist with an elite qb. all of a sudden the same picks you made, that you thought were busts, can work out. That is what an elite qb does for you.
#3 we have to make sure this time that there is synergy between the players and the system. Not just picking up the best players, but making sure that on film they have succeeded in the system you want to run or that you will tweak.
#4. It's obvious, we have to have a good draft. One where you can get 3-4 starters on a team strapped for cash and talent. That is about 15-18% of your starters, 3-4 lucky from a draft. We are not only paying for Suh's and Tannehill's deals, but also paying for an atrocious 2013 offseason. Think about those transactions, between Wallace, Jordan, Ellerbe and Wheeler and the other clowns.

After what Jax gave up for Ivory, hard to imagine we can keep Miller. They screwed up the market.
Really liked OV but just have a feeling he will never take that next step and become elite. Happy to have Mario Williams. Watched the guy destroy us for years, only 31, and if you ignore last year the guy is a complete monster. Wake Suh and Williams = 3 pro bowlers on the same line. Time to shore up the linebacking unit to make sure we aren't getting ran on

We weren't going to pay Vernon for the type of money he could get on the open market. Vernon has made it very clear it's all about money. He's earned that right, good luck to him.

I don't like the trade for two pieces of damaged goods. So the jury is out.

Why does every thread have to include some boneheaded negative twist to bringing up Tannehill. Get the Hell over it....he is our QB!!!!

So this is what I'm wondering. We have to pay Maxwell 8.5 million. Why not just sign one of the free agent corners for that or less. There are pretty good options available and we don't give up anything. Usually, you give up a draft pick for a top talent or a guy on an affordable contract. Why trade for a mid-level talent with a high salary?

because we have been spending years trying to add talent to a team that has been filled with mediocre qb's.

I think it's the cap flexibility. I think with the restructure (or not), it's a essentially a one year deal. Signing a new player could get you same average, but addt'l money from bonus

You are forgetting the additional 1.6 million in salary cap space from moving down from 8th to 13th

I saw something on ESPN about us getting compensatory picks in the trade. Any word on that? I'm not liking the trade. Wish we could have swapped seconds. Both of these guys are injury prone and Maxwell is way overpaid. I will be shocked if they deliver on the field this year

Supposedly he is restructing so maybe we'll only end up paying 7 or so. You really think 8.5 is going to net us someone good? Jenoris jenkins just landed 12.5 a year and he's no superstar. 8.5 lands us maybe lands us sterling moore, patrick robinson, jeremy lane... Neither of which are probably better than maxwell. Guys like pacman may be had but they are old stop gap players.

The comp pick is probably from taking the tag off verno. So we will get a comp pick whenever he signs his huge deal
