Thoughts: Pat White Late Game Involvement

Could it be that Pat White was put into the game late to better showcase his current WildCat abilities to hopefully create interest in him for a possible trade?

Putting him in seemed a risky thing to do with the game so close.

And seeing as we now have Thigpen, keeping the both of them seems a bit redundant.

Another team interested in installing the WildCat might offer up a pick or player to get a QB that can run that offense.

Wouldn't be too surprised if some team makes an offer for him.

If so I hope it is a good one!!

More likely is that they're just getting him involved in the offense more and more, slowly but surely.

If they wanted to trade him so soon, that means they don't believe in him. If they didn't believe in him, they wouldn't put the game on the line by putting the ball in his hands on a read-option-draw with minutes left in the game, only in hopes of generating some trade interest (which would be best case mid-round pick).

Nah, we want to keep him. Imagine him spread out wide and then comes in motion, takes the ball, stops, plants his feet and hits a WIDE open Ginn for 6!!!

The possibilities are endless with all the speed we have.

I think we did it because it's going to happen again at a time that the other team least expects it.

I think our coordinators are tricky fellas. It was fun to watch.

no....he was put into the game too give yet another look the Jets havent had against the Dolphins O.When I saw Pat in the game,I knew he wasnt going to pass it.....WAY too big of a game to depend on his erratic throwing(as of late).His sole purpose was too make the Jets think.

I was kind of curious at first when White entered the game at such a critical time. However, what he was asked to do was pretty basic.

I do not think so as much as some fans might want to believe in a trade. They have a plan for White and they still believe that White can make that plan work. I know it is baby progress but White did make a pretty positive play last night. They do not need to rush White into yet nor does White need to be rushed but he is getting prepared. I certainly was not sold that Henne could play this well this quick and it has been a pleasant surprise so with that in mind and we are seeing the results after Henne riding the pine for 1 1/2 years its certainly not time to give up on White yet at all.

Nah, as was stated last night during the broadcast, PW meets the criteria Bill Parcells looks for. Winner, gets degree, starter for multiple years, won a lot of games. Pat will be an integral part of the offense as time progresses that will just complement Hennes talents and the Wildcat.

I was nervous about bringing Pat in with the game on the line, but he did what he need to. He should be a valuable backup QB and weapon in the most wildcat heavy offense in the league. If teams start to figure out how to beat our current run heavy wildcat, White will be seeing the field much more.

It's amazing how many Dolphin fans hate Pat White that leads them to such delusions at the OP. First they hate the call even though it worked, and now this. Yeah the Dolphins are so ready to trade Pat White, a player they supposedly don't want, that with the season on the line , they would put in the game this unwanted player. Where do you people come up with this stuff? Is this just wishful thinking by you OP?

Yes I got upset at first because I didnt want the moment to drift away for a no gain or maybe a turnover...but then I thought..sparano and company know what they are doing and they know what they expect out of white. They see him more than anyone else here...Pat white coming in is like we all said redzone type areas with short yardage ...once guys see pat white complete a pass there will be more fans...just like i am now a henne fan.. all i needed was the guy to show me something...but did you see how fast pat white was on that draw...damn

pat white comes in the game fresher than anyone else to simply run the ball and hold onto it or throw it if he makes the read.. i love how this team plays and i am not mad at people syaing they hate the wildcat or hate how we play...because how we play is pure genius..its torturing playing us...more thinking than normal also makes you physically tired...sometimes the defense over thinks and we run it right through the tackle..takes alot of discipline and telling an agreesive defense to be disciplined and patient....when you have runners like ronnie and ricky who are coming full speed off the snap is just hard to deal with..in the end their defense was soft...basically they messed up by giving us the ball first...we pounded the rock and hold on to the ball for extended periods.
