I give a thumbs up to:
  • Ryan Tannehill- Good command back there, smooth. Needs them reps! You can see the spark in him.
  • Jason Trusnik- He was all over the ball tonight. Loved his effort.
  • Anthony Fasano/Charles Clay- Man Clay will be a beast in my opinion. Fasano a solid option to go to.
  • R. Wallace- Would like to see him "own" things! Good size/speed ratio. If he can get it together

Thumbs down:

  • Oline/dline 1st team. Understand its early but they got handled tonight
  • WR's first half. Drops again
  • Dan Carpenter. Just one of those nights
  • Secondary- They look SUSPECT! Still early though....

Looking forward to seeing week 2, seeing who wants it. Would like to see some flash From the WR's!

Trusnik really flashed tonight. Shelby had a solid game. Roberto Wallace was excellent. The entire secondary sucked, and the defensive line got absolutely NO pressure.

Sean Smith, Chad Johnson, Vontae. All HUGE thumbs downs. Jimmy Wilson a smaller thumbs down. Played that ball well, just let the guy catch it.

Thumbs up for T-hill, Clay, Trusnik, Wallace, and Brandon Fields as usual.

I agree with your assessment...but I would also add Reggie Bush and Pat Devlin to thumbs up

Brian Hartline will bring the flash..

He would at least be solid. Chad Johnson I just had to shake my head at. He's doing all this "look at me" crap but when he gets his chance, he played puzzled... Going to be interesting to see how the pre season play out at WR.

Wallace and Pruitt both had a good game. They are making strong cases for themselves. Gates is in big trouble.

Matthews made a case for himself with some decent returns. Don't see him making the 53 at this point as he has too much ground to make up at WR with Wallace/Pruitt performing well.

Big thumbs up to the new offense. I like the tempo and the Phins are able to move the chains with simple passes that I always wondered why were never a part of the Phins offense before (e.g. slant). Lots to clean up but I think the offense will be potent. Obviously Tannehill looked good...against 2s and 3s of course, but baby steps, baby steps.

One thing im really keeping an eye on is the safety play. Still worries me! I wonder why Culver is not getting more of a true look back there? I know he may not be the long tern solution but he's steady! When he's in, the secondary plays well and communication is better.
