On 790 they were talking about Chambers and McMichael elevating their play to substantiate their call to be top 5 players respectively at their positions.

A comment was made that Randy Moss in Minny.. had great numbers regardless who was throwing the rock... whether its Dante.. or Gus, Or Jeff George or whoever.... Moss made those QBs look better than maybe they were ... or at least made them look much better... Now look at Owens.. Look how good he made the 49ers and Garcia look...

The argument was made that if Chambers and McMichael want to be seriously considered "gamebreakers' they have to make those plays.. adjusting to the balls they get... to make those catches.. and also get some serious yards after the catch.

I thought the comments were valid... does anyone ever think that these guys should elevate their play... if they seriously want to be side by side with the Moss'.. or Owens... or Gonzalez.. type players?

Not that they arent very very good receivers... but perhaps not in the class of a Moss or Owens ..or Gonzalez...

anyone's numbers will look good when you have time to throw a deep jump ball and randy will just go pluck it out of the air.

The point is that Randy is elevating his play to a point that makes the QB's look good. Miami's receivers are underachieving and should take it upon themselves to become great- not wait for a superb QB or an all-pro offensive line. There have been plenty of players on sub-par teams that elevate their play to hall-of-fame status. Do Miami's receivers/TE's lack that desire or ability?

I think they forgot to mention that Minnesota has an excellent offensive line. I don't think Chambers is anywhere near as good as Moss or Owens at this point of his career. Could he put up better numbers in another system? Yes, he could. But I don't think he could change a game like Randy Moss can. I think over the next couple of years, we will find out if Chambers and McMike will put up or shut up. I think they'll get their chance and let's all hope they take full advantage of it.

I disagree... respectfully. An argument was made that Garcia made himself appearent in Cleveland. Those SnaFran teams were pathetic. Owens made plays that made everyone around him look better.

We can all talk about the "line" Forever. But EVERYONE has to elevate their game in these circumstances.

Owens took screens made made big plays... Moss took 5 yards outs amd made something happen... bot mentioned receivers had poorly thrwon balls and just dog gone it... took the ball out of the air./

My point isthat both these guys have had the praise of every Phan. Now its time they understand that they have subar Qbs... they have to after those balls.. and make something happen with them.

Now I never thought about it till i heard ut on 790... but it makes sense.

An example would be Ricky.... when he left... the real pain was how patheitc this team was without him. Maybe its something he foresaw... likely added years to his career...

I agree... But thats why Im leary to call these guy serious probowlers. 32 teams... 1696 players... Howmany guys deserve to be problowl caliber players... You need gamebreakers. I want the hype to be earned...These guys have been on the squad for a few years now.... You could almost say that this a breakout year for these guys.... because you know that Saban is going to stock pile players.... hmmmm!

TO is in a class by himself and yes I include Moss. The Eagles have a chance to win a SB with him.Probably wouldnt without him.

Last year I criticized the fact that our receivers didnt seem to help our QBs very much by making the necessary adjustments to errant passes.

The QBs are to blame for poor after catch stats .Its tough to get yards after catch if the receivers are not catching balls in stride.

U are comparing the PREMIER player Moss or owens (take your pick) at that wr position. this is absurd. If Chambers or Mcmike were that good at their respective positions, some other team's fan would be using them as a benchmark to compare to. Mcmike and chambers are good little players, just not on owens or moss' level

i dont think anybody is dumb enough to put Chambers in the class with TO and Moss nor randy in the class with Gonzalez...they plain and simple arent in that class

i have to disagree. i think Moss is a better WR. to say a team has a "chance" but "probably" wouldnt without him, does nothing for that argument. they got to the superbowl without him last year.

Miami's WR Chambers and TE McMichael need to wake up because just because they can make a couple of mind-boggling catches ther is hardly ever any moves Chambers has to get yards after catch or from dropping a couple of easy ones. Same foe McMichael on the dropping of easy ones after making great catches but he does get good YAC.

Last year Chambers said he'd like the ball 8 to 10 times a game and then he starts dropping balls that hit him right in the hands...same for Randy.

Chambers has been on an unfortunate situation playing on a team with a horrid OL but when there is time and the pass is there he just doesn't always come through with clutch catch. But I will admit last years' offense was a satire, a joke with Foerster at the helm.

So will Chambers ever be up there with the Moss' and the Harrisons'? I doubt it. But he could be just a few notches under them? Hell yes.

Its nice to hear these comments.. Ive hears many Phans here talk about our guys being probowl type players...elite players...

Now remember T.O. was traded for a 2nd....

I just hope when we talk about trades we keep that in mind.

I will have to go with OJ Mc Duffies opinion who said on the radio last week that TO is the best receiver in the NFL today bar none and he included Moss.He said it wasnt even close .As a pretty fair WR himself OJ should know.
