I wish I could see what Saban sees everyday in practice so I could make an honest assessment of Tillman/Hill vs Bell/Allen. Allen may not be ready because he's still learning Saban's defense, but Yeremiah Bell always seems to be in position to make plays whe Tillman is never in position. Case in point, the Ahman Green run...Tillman ran himself out of position.

Is Yeremiah Bell that terrible in practice?

I guess Coaches have their favourites, only explanation i have.

I agree Hill is very bad so he is the first one to get rid off and tillman. They are both small and slow. Start Bell and Allen and see if they can be our future.

Bell is a Wannstach guy,and Allen just can't get on the field.I say this season is gone so let the Rookie get some game experience,so what if he messes up,we ain't going no where!

Hill is playing close to the best if not the best of all our defensive backs. I agree with Tillman playing himself out of position constantly, but Hill has been playing better than even Schulters did last season.

Tillman is garbage. Safeties like him should have been cut long ago. Saban has actually praised Bell, but Bell is very effective as a specialist and perhaps Saban knows that he would lose a valuable weapon otherwise. Reggie Howard was actually a very good blitzer and made some big plays last year, but he gave up just as many if not more. Perhaps starting Bell would have the same result. I would love to see him starting I'm just trying to understand Saban's point of view.

Agree. Let the rook play! It can only help cause i dont see how things could get any worse.

i think if tillman is playing solid allen isnt playing b/c tillman is our SS and allen is a FS.

Schulters made big plays. We desperately need someone back there to convert some of those batted passes into INTs. We would have won 2-3 more games if we could only catch the ball on defense (and offense).

I posted this before a while back but I have never seen two safeties play worse for a prolonged period of time.

You can't say anything more than that. Just terrible. Beyond terrible actually....

hill really isnt that bad but it amazed me how slow he looked trying to catch ahman green. tillman is garbage though, i cant believe he's still in there.

Yoooo, Hill actually hasn't been that bad this year . . . but that Ahman Green run really should have showed EVERYBODY how bad our safeties are. Tillman over plays the run and gets burnt, and then Renaldo's slow self couldn't catch a injury prone beat up running back when he had a clear angle on the play . . . that play sums up the season if u ask me, and I will be very dissappointed if atleast Tillman isn't benched come Chicago, he has been awful going all the way back to the steelers game. Lets go with Bell and Allen . . case closed, those 2 are the future and Bell is a certified playmaker while Allen is EASILY the best athlete of the group. C'mon Saban, u are supposed to be a DB specialist, but think like a head coach and do the obvious man.

Please don't bring his name up.

Let Bell and Allen start, hell it couldn't hurt.

What was so wrong with Freeman? This guy brought in more picks in a season than our DBs will this entire season.
