If Tim Tebow was still on the draft board as our pick would come up, would you take him?....I know we have Henne but would you still draft him?....just a hypothetically question to have some debate about

Simply put..No.

a) we have other needs
b) I think Chad will be just fine and wouldnt want to play with his head just yet by introducing another young QB. Give him a couple years.

still not sure i see him as a QB in the pros. Nor do i think he should come out. Tim Tebow will probably not be a top 10 pick, he'll be lucky if hes top 20, so why come out early?

If Tebow comes out it's because he has nothing left to prove (ie they win the National title with him as a starter). In 3 years he's won the Heisman, became Florida's All Time leader in Rushing TDs, became the first QB to rush and pass for 20 TDs in a season, won the Maxwell Trophy, the Davey O'Brien Trophy, the Heisman, a 2 time Academic All-American, and was named First TEam All-American. The only thing he hasn't done is lead his team to the National Title (he was a big reason as to why they won it his Freshmen year, but he was not the starter).

Timmy T is still very raw for a QB and some project him to other positions (Mel Kiper has him as the number 2 TE), BUT unlike most spread QBs Tebow has a lot of things scouts look for. Tebow is not small (6'3 240), and does have a fairly good arm. His throws might not be pretty to look at most of the time, but he can make a lot of throws. Most importantly to most teams he's got the intangibles. He's a great leader, he puts the team before himself, and he's a winner.

Yeah saying he's a winner tends to fall to guys who struggle as QBs in the NFL (Vick and Young), but I think Tebow can be a very good QB in the NFL because he's a hardworker. Like Vick and Young, Tebow pretty much has been treated like a god in college (not sure how he was treated in high school, but Vick and Young were gods there too), but Tebow was brought up in a very religious and hardworking family and he takes nothing for granted.

All that being said, the worst thing that could happen to Tebow is him coming out and ending up in Detroit or KC. He's just too raw as a passer to be baptized by fire like he would at either of those stops. Ideally, he'd be drafted by a team like the Vikings so he could sit behind Gus Gus for a year, and if he has to start as a rookie he has 2 strong RBs to rely on.

if he's there in the 5th round, yes... he'd be good for wildcat. and i wouldnt mind him competing with henne...
but it wont happen... he wont even declare this year, and hell be gone in the second round...

i wouldn't mind pat white though... we could snatch him in the sixth round.. he's gonna declare as a WR... that'd be even better for the wildcat...

Sure. Why not. If he's available in the 4-5th round we could us another FB/TE.

No. Tebow is an amazing college quarterback, but some of the throws he made yesterday he wouldn't get away with on Sundays.

Tebow will not be a good NFL QB. He is too talented to not make it in the NFL, but his best position is either possibly as a TE or a FB in the Mike Alstott or Larry Czonka mold. He would absolutely devastating there.

Tim Tebow would be good here if he came in the 3rd-4th round, and ill tell you why. He would be a nice TE for us, and also would be the PERFECT QB to run the Wildcat with. You put him back there with Ronnie at RB and Ricky as a slot WR, and that could be ridiculous. Then on normal formations, use him at TE or H back.

Tebow as a TE would be a different story. Tebow's only shot in the NFL is as a TE or FB. Personally, I think Pat White would be better at running the Wildcat.

My point exactly... i never really like tebow running my team as a nfl qb... hell i hate the gators... (USF FAN) but i was talking about this to my buddy last week... i told him that if we were to draft him in the late rounds im all for it.. Nothing before the 5th round... ALthough i dont think he would be as effective on short yard situations Pat White is another option.
