time to gut this team and get rid of overpayed vets so we can afford some players with a heart and desire to win. we all know the problems this team has. the d needs a major overhaul and we need guys with a killer instinct that can stop a team when the offense is struggking. most of the secondary couldn't make any other roster in the league[eddie jackson, michael lehan, traveres tillman] the rest are second stringer for any other team. i haven't heard donnie spragans name all year exceopt for a penalty. i could go on and on.

Certainly looks like we have to clean house and start over. The core of this team has never done anything but underachieve and disappoint. As a football team, you're only as good as your core players. Unfortunately, it appears that our core stinks.

i may be the only one but i think the team is not the problem .. the motivation to win is the problem .. it seems they rest on the new QB new cordinators and injuries that they don't have the desire to win and think its alright when they lose because they have a scapegoat

on offense we need a playmaker to go along with welker and brown ,chambers clearly isn't the answer. no i don't want moss or porter. get spragan out of the lineup and replace him with j taylor. get wilkinson and traylor on the field at the same time with holliday and/ or roth, and carter. jt crowder and thomas at lb. and maybe we can get enough pressure on the qb to cover up the pathetic play at db. are these the answers probably not but we need some changes. don't know about the o-line since it was the jets. i liked the move with shelton to guard and mac back at LT. we need alot more no huddle.

look for this team to be alot younger, and many new faces again. we can't wipe out too many guys tho cus if that happened everyone would be confused with this defense

Players that should be weaned onto the field this season:

OL: Berger
WR: Hagen (even when Marty comes back)
DL: Evans and Vickerson
S: Allen

Players that should be gone after the season:

WR: Booker - solid but too expensive
OL: James, Shelton, McIntosh
DL: Holiday, Bowens
LB: Spragan, Newman
DB: Tillman, E. Jackson, Lehan
K: Mare

Coaches who should be gone after the season:
Houck and Mularkey

So 12 new roster spots. Decent turnover.

Offseason moves:

1. left tackle with our first round pick (e.g, Joe Thomas or trade down for the kid out of USC)
2. Acquire veteran free agent guard (e.g., Eric Steinbach)
3. Draft an explosive outside backer with intensity in 2nd round
4. Draft an inside backer with size, intensity and smarts, someone 6'2 and 245-250 lbs in 3rd round
5. Bring in a free agent receiver who can fly
6. Bring in a decent free agent corner who can cover as a nickel or dime back
7. Draft a good cover corner in the 4th
8. Give Will Poole a shot
9. Draft an interior offensive lineman in later rounds
10. Rod Wright and Fred Wright take Holliday's spot.

Zach Thomas EDIT: looks like he's almost done.

Don't bring up his stats either - he's been ran over more times in these first 6 games than his entire damn career. It's time to get Crowder some reps in the middle where our staff thinks his future is the brightest, and find two young outside linebackers in the offseason. If Zach is still commited, then run the 3-4.

Right now, it's all about those young guys, IMO;
Ronnie Brown, Channing Crowder, Derek Hagan, Jason Allen, Fred Evans, Kevin Vickerson, etc.

I wish Travis Daniels could stay healthy. We need to see some progression from him.
