Joe Thomas went down on Sunday. Scherff and Williams are hurt for the Skins. Jason Peters also went down last night. The Seahawks are looking to acquire experienced linemen again. My point being that OT experience is thin out there, and the Dolphins are in just as much need as other contenders.

Branden Albert had shown decline because of injuries, but he also showed a knack for playing when he wasn't 100% healthy. He knows the playbook and he knows how to operate with this line. The o-line was struggling when healthy. Now, it's just a house of cards waiting to fall and ruin any chance of this team continuing to win.

The situation is at least worth a phone call to Albert to come in for a visit and a workout.

been asking for this. I think Miami is still "happy" with their line

He was out of shape at the beginning of camps before. How bad is he now?

This kind of thinking us how we prevent improvement. Better to try something that may work longer term than trying something that we pretty much know won't work now.

This isn't about improvement, this is about survival. If Eric Smith were healthy, I would be all for him getting some playing time, but he's not. Clearly the coaching staff doesn't yet believe Asiata can contribute. We are squarely in the playoff hunt right now. If we're eliminated at some point, then by all means start to see what we have in long term prospects, but let's first add some experience. BTW, I was wrong on Mauluga...he's been effective for us in the last few games. Maybe the FO would be proven wrong on Albert.

Maybe he'll play for free considering he's $3.4 million
in dead money on our cap this season
