Jerry has been ripped for some time on this forum, and it's time to look for someone new to pick on. Since the Balt game, when he gave up a sack and 3 hurries, he has been Perfect in pass protect, and doing well on the run.

Cinci- 0 sacks, 0 hits, 0 hurries.

Pats- 0 sacks, 0 hits, 0 hurries.

Buff- 0 sacks, 0 hits, 0 hurries.

Over the last 3-4 games Jerry has been our best in past protect, better than Cog or Pouncey. Time to give the guy a Frakin break. JMO

Because Pouncey is always double-teaming someone with Jerry.

Not so, watch the tape. Jerry is playing VERY well. I would not say that in the first 4 games but, have to in the last 4.

I don't see how this can be accurate. The play in the Patriots game where Tanny took the sack and we missed the FG, Tanny avoided the rush from Ninkovich but got sacked immediately after by Hightower, who was being blocked by Jerry.

But I do agree he's been a pleasant surprise this year, even if he's needed help from Pouncey.

Jerry was slow out of the gates but he certainly hasn't been that poor recently.

That injury he had really set him back. I hope he's getting better as he goes.

I believe that sack was on RT for holding the ball for 4 seconds.

On that play he was hit in under 2 seconds by Ninkovich and then immediately after escaping he was hit by Hightower for the sack. He had zero time to hold the ball on that play. The only thing I can think is they gave the sack to Martin since Hightower got away from Jerry and went around Martin and the guy he was blocking.

They only gave sacks given up to Cog and Garner. The other one may have been a team sack

That could have been since the whole dang right side of the line got blown up on that play. Not sure why we are incapable of handling a defense stunting on us but it gets us every week.

i have never doubted that he has talent. weight has been an issue, as have injuries, but it seems most of what was holding him back was between his ears. let's hope he has had (or is about to have) his paul soliai moment, realizes his potential, and plays like a beast for us for the next five or so years. every single fins fan has to hope that will be the case, right? we drafted soliai in the fourth, and he has become a top five (three?) DT/NT in this league, why wouldn't we want jerry, drafted in the third to also far outplay his draft position and evolve into a top guard?

Agreed. In the last 3 games, he has been our best OL in pass protect. He has not been beaten on any pass rush. I'm loving this in defending him in the past, and seeing him kick some ass. :)
