Sources tell ESPN's Ed Werder that two teams are in "deep negotiations" with free agent DeSean Jackson.

It's an eyebrow-raiser because Werder says these two teams have not been identified publicly has having interest in Jackson. That rules out the Redskins, Raiders, Bills, Jets and 49ers. And despite serious needs, the Chiefs and Panthers have said they're not interested. We have a couple darkhorses in the mix as Jackson meets with Dan Snyder in Virgina Monday. "Lot of research needs to be done here. High risk, potentially high reward," one NFL head coach told Werder.

So who might those two teams be? Not saying it is our beloved Phins, but intrigued there are two teams that havent been mentioned who are in deep negotiations. Cap space teams like the Browns? Vikings? Who are your guesses?

Without knowing the cap situations I will go with the Bucs and Rams because both coaches have a history of reclamation projects

Dolphins are CRAZY to not be going all in on this kid. Speed KILLS!!!
Stack the box with 8 when you have DJax and Wallace and we will burn you.
I just am SO SICK AND TIRED of Dolphin 1/2 measures.
Philbin needs to get the H over his little character mantra - I don't CARE!!! I don't!!! Who really cares what the hell he does if he shows up on Sunday and makes plays. Don't think the league cares about these guys - the league cares about the league. And the teams don't care about these guys - so put a product on the field that says 12 and 4 not 8 and mother freakin 8! I don't care who his friends are!

Go get DJAX!!!!!

I'm calling fluff on this.

Cheifs, Raiders, Panthers are all going after DJax, I don't care what anyone or insider crap says. All 3 teams are desperate for a down field threat.

If I had to toss in some "mystery" teams, probably Bills and Rams.

Don't really see Rams as they can easily have Watkins in the draft and Bills again, easily have Mike Evans. Raiders could also target Evans/Watkins if Rams pass him over etc....

Concentrate on bottom feeder draft picks. Maybe Giants look for a replacement to Nicks along side Victor Cruz. Skins are also desperate for a WR.

Highly, Highly, Highly, doubt Fins are even sniffing at DJAX for reasons.

1. Price tag (Already have big deals on Wallace,Hartline,Gibson)
2. Drama/Headache (Wallace is already the deep threat, so unless we are benching Hartline for DJAX he would be #3 on the chart). Having Jax and Wallace as 1/2's would create a very one dimensional route tree for WR's and CB's to catch onto. If JAx doesn't start and is not THE MAN, he will cry.

Broncos maybe. :idk:

Very true.

I could see Broncos/Pats doing after DJax on probably a big money one or two year deal.

Broncos (Manning), Pats (Brady) from the FA moves are doinge everything they can to grab another ring or two before Manning and Brady ride off into the sunset.

With Broncos spending big coin on Ware and Pats on Revis, it's evident this is the plan. Spend big now, who cares about the future, must win NOW!

You think it is a good idea to spend almost 30M dollars on two WR's?

The Panthers would be stupid not to get him. The NFCS is way too hard to have Jericho Cotchery as your number 1.

With that said I would rather not have that thug in my city.

No.

So here is my theory and take on this whole Jackson situation. Miami will not go after him at all due to potential character flaw. However it would make sense as he is a bit better after the catch, better go up and fight for the ball and he can help the return game as well. We looked at Hester didn't we (FYI)....

If we did het the balls to go after him and cut Wallace it's only a 12 million cap hit which Ross can afford if he truly wants to make a better team. In addition the cap hit makes little difference since the cap goes upward of 160 million next year. So getting Jackson could be a twofold move, however I don't see us doing that, even though I'd like it.

I havent.. And Gibson.. We'd have what, 40+M tied up in the WR position alone if we signed D-Jax?
lets not forget we paid Hartline last year as well.

Its not about Ross affording it, its about having that 12M in dead cap space that we could use on other upgrades. 12M is a big chunk that you will never get back.
