And trade Cam Wake.

Before you bash me consider some of the things listed below. Also consider that he is my favorite player and I am well aware that he is the best player on our team.

- he is in his 30's
- he is still ridiculously productive and could command a 1st rounder, and then some.
- we have a log jam on the d-line and a couple guys that can come in and play that would soften the blow of his loss (Jordan and Shelby)
- cap space
- potential to have 2 1st rounders, maybe a 3rd too.......and a lot of holes to fill

I would hate to see him go, but we could use some picks and we have someone waiting to replace him.

thoughts??

Unless u get the first overall pick why bother - picks are iffy - they are not a sure bet

I'm not so sure your crazy although a very good organization would make something out of such a bold move. If not, Brady would have a field day back there.

Who has he traded like you are suggesting?

Seymour?

Seymour was traded because they weren't willing to commit that much money to both him and Wilfork and it came down to a choice between the two. The Dolphins have the money to spend and do not have the talent to spare. I could understand the thought process if this team looked like it was going nowhere in the next couple years but they've got a chance to at least compete for a playoff spot. Trading Wake does not make the team better in the short term and I don't know how anyone can have the faith that the Dolphins front office will find a pro bowl OT with the draft pick they receive in return.

Seymour?

Seymour immediately comes to mind. Matt Cassel and Ellis Hobbs too. I was also referring to how he always seems to stockpile picks somehow.....

Oh. The Fins need to be in talent acquiring business…not giving it up.

IF… we were to switch to a 30 front, then yes, trade him. Unfortunately however, I don't see that happening and Jordan isn't ready to take over the mantle as a 40 DE, so in this case I agree with Hayden - we should be keeping the high end talent we have.

I dont think Jordan is at that level where he can step in and be that every down guy. maybe next year but not ready to take that full load that wake carries every game.

I suggested this last year. It wouldve been a good move. We didnt win anything with Wake on our roster.

I doubt they could get a 1st round pick for him at this point.

How about going the other way and getting another stellar pass rusher or two out there to help Wake out?

Miami could Win a Superbowl with a serious offensive line and two more serious pass rushers in addition to Wake and Jordan.

Miami needs to figure this out like yesterday please!

Wake's lifecycle does not fit with the rest of the team.
We would be better off trading him.

Still 2nd round pick is probably 75 cents on the dollar.
