EAGLES TELL T.J. TO TAKE A HIKE?

Receiver T.J Houshmandzadeh has said that he'd like to play for the Eagles.

But, as it turns out, the Eagles might not be interested.

According to Derrick Gunn on Comcast SportsNet, the Eagles didn't react kindly to an effort by Houshmandzadeh to dupe the team into thinking that he was offering Philly a discount. After checking around, the Eagles reportedly learned that Houshmandzadeh's agent was actually asking for more money from the Eagles than from other teams.

Per Gunn, the Eagles previously had little interest in Houshmandzadeh. The alleged bait-and-swtich routine ensured that the Eagles won't make a play for him.

Meanwhile, league observers continue to believe that Houshmandzadeh won't strike it as rich as he'd prefer. As Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange pointed out to me earlier in the day, Houshmandzadeh will be 32 later this year.

To put it bluntly, guys in their 30s rarely get rich in the early days of free agency.

If TJ price went down Coles value goes down. Seem like the WR market is not as highly coverted as thought. I think the draft has something to do with that. Rumors of holt being release will not help the asking price of Coles or TJ either. WoW sounds like TJ wanted to screw the Eagles, teams wont like this.

I said it right before FA that TJ use to be a real quite reciever similiar to Harrison, but he has been hanging to much with CJ and has become a Premadonna himself.

He is 31 so I think that if we can get a decent contract for 4 years then we should take a look at him. However, I think he is looking for a big deal no matter what team so we should probably back away from him.

The Bengals are reportedly still negotiating in an attempt to re-sign T.J. Houshmanzadeh.
Housh visited Seattle Friday, but no signing is imminent. He listed the Giants, Eagles, Seahawks and Vikings as his favored landing spots, but the Bengals may have a chance to re-enter the derby. The Bears apparently never had interest, the Eagles are reportedly no longer pursuing him, the Giants deem him too expensive, and no other teams are lining up for visits.

It gets even more sad for TJ, being a Premadona will do that to you. He is starting to look just like CJ.

Don't mind him. Seeing it spelled like that made me chuckle.

It's "prima donna" for those that don't know.

aside from all that, the dude produces at 6-2. Thats the bottom line. When you need a big play with the game on the line, he offers alot.

Now, I think we can get a good WR in this draft and think this is where we are going but if you can get this guy at a discount then like Chad says, you cant coach experience.

I would rather have Coles though because of the relationship w/ Chad.

I also think getting a hakim Nicks or Britt would be pretty cool too.

If TJ could be a selfless quite reciever like he used to be and comes cheap. Why Not. If True that no team is interested in him now is when the Phins can swoop in and get him cheap.
