Hey board, first time poster, long time troller. Just wanted to ask a question to the Miami locals. I am going to be going to my first dolphin game in Miami for the Fins/Pats sunday night game on dec 6. Finally going to enjoy seeing the fins with Miami fans rather than have to suffer watching them in Buffalo with the toothless Buffalo locals while they try to pick a fight with us. Just wondering where some of the good areas to visit are and some of the areas to avoid. Thanks in advance

I suggest staying around Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Its still fun but not as crazy as South Beach. How old are you? That might help.

Avoid the areas around the stadium. Avoid Opa Locka. There's really nowhere in Miami where I would say that you fear for your life, but some areas are nicer than others

I would second that. I just moved from Miami up to Ft Lauderdale this year.

The Ft Lauderdale beach area is very nice, there are bars & nice restaurants right across from the ocean. There are nightclubs too. The whole area is very nice. SOBE was cool 15 years ago.

Miami Lakes??

Miami Lakes is pretty nice and it has Shula's and a main street with various restaurants. Shula's 2 is a sports bar with alot of cool old pictures of Shula and the Dolphins and they have a hotel there too. It's only like 15 minutes from the stadium. Just an option to visit when down here. I live there so I am very familiar with it.

Depending on your age but no matter how old you are South Beach is timeless... But if you want less crowds stay in Ft. Lauderdale Beach... Please do not stay near the stadium not the best place to stay nothing near there... And hey this time you are gonna be the one to pick fight with the Bills fan ... If not i will....

Thanks for everyones suggestions. I think we are going to stay in Fort Lauderdale. Cant wait to go to the game and hopefully watch them beat the Pats.

I love watching Miami win at Buffalo. Go to south beach, local bars and the stadium. Stay away from nothing. Oh, perhaps don Shula's Steak house for a 24 OZ filet.

Ft. Lauderdale is where it's at. Always. I'd much rather be in Las Olas than South Beach. Drinks are around $4 cheaper. Make sure you don't take any wrong turns leaving the stadium lol. It's not the greatest area. Stay out of Opa Locka for sure. If you end up on 395 somehow turn around lol. I'd recommend staying out of North Miami as well. Beware of Carol City. Liberty City. Pick up a Pitbull album and basically any part of Miami he mentions, stay out of it lol.
