As i watched the game in absolute amazment on sunday I didnt know how to feel. it's been so long since I felt that good it was a really bizare feeling. So now in the afterglow of this victory lies my fear and trepidation. Given the fact that we have been so bad for so long and all have experienced the ocassional fluke win I am worried. Allthough if this were our only win of the season it would be worth it. So i guess my question is do we really have the tallent and coaching to even get to a 500 season. Guess we have to watch and see.

Fell good brotha, feel good.

We have 2 weeks till our next game, plenty of time to reflect with a more open mind about the game. But for now, kick back, brag to your Pat-friends, and enjoy it.

Damn, IDK about you guys but I hadn't felt that good about anything since the Super Bowl!!;-p.

Easy there big fella, one win with a gadget offense does not a .500 season make. Lets shoot for 4 to 6 wins this year and go for the .500 or better season next year.

I too have major mixed feeling over our win. Yea it was great to kick to Pats butt but the week before the Cards handed an even more lopsided loss on us. So are we really that good or just had a good week. Lets actually use more than one game as a barometer for the team and its players.

Yeah, me too.

Being In The Moment, right now I'm vacillating between:

"thrilled," "elated," "vindicated," flabbergasted," "fulfilled," "appreciative," "optimistic," and "horny' (although that's got nothing to do with Sunday)

I know what you meant. I was just amazed at what was going on. When the Pats cut the lead to 28-13 I got that uneasy feeling that Miami would blow it.

To my amazement, they held on and continued to pile up points. One of the best games I have seen by the Dolphins in a long time. The 2006 game against the Bears was also great, and the 2006 game against the Pats(21-0) was great too, but this game had a totally different feel. Probably the best game since the 03' Thanksgiving Day Cowboys game.

I think we can hit .500. Realistically probably more like a 6 or 7 win season. For what Parcells/Ireland/Sparano inherited, a .500 season would be outstanding.

I think 4 to 6 wins is more realistic. However, as opposed to the 1 win in the last second we witnessed last year, this win we should absolutely enjoy for many reasons. It gives hope to the future of this team. It wasn't just a win but a butt kicking of arguably the best team in football (even without Brady) and we did it in their stadium! It also showed me something about Sparano's potential as a coach: after a decent first game with the Jets, then a horrible performance with Arizona, this staff showed that they will make adjustments and will rally the troops. I mean, if it were the last few years a loss like the Cardinal game would have crushed the team and going against the Pats we would have lost by 4 TDs. It's amazing that they rebounded that way. So yes, be happy and hope to see improvements like this the rest of the year.

Kind of like every single team in the NFL this year (with maybe the exception of Dallas)

We do not suck
and we are not going to the superbowl

I doubt you will be disappointed it at all if you believe we will fall some where in between the two.

:woot:

Now its time to sit back and read some of the jets message boards and be entertained by how they are ripping their team and quarterback to shreds

While peeking in on some articles about how we might not be as bad as people thought

After the hell we've been through the last several years, you have mixed feelings after WE KICK NEW ENGLAND'S A** IN FOXBOROUGH???

When NONE OF US SAW IT COMING???

And WE GET TWO WEEKS TO BASK IN THE AFTERGLOW???

If that doesn't resolve your feelings, please let me know and I'll repeat it slower for you.

On a related matter, has Belichick told anyone how Miami's :newera: tastes?

This game resonated more so than the others (which I agree were satisfying, somewhat surprising vics) because ,while the hopefulness meter never wavered, realistic expectations remained low with most steeling themselves for just another typical Fins Sunday outcome.

Let that uneasy feeling go guy- Dave Wannstedt hasnt coached this team for a few years now, nothing to worry about in that respect

Just sit back and enjoy it man, there has been plenty of negativity the last few years.

No, don't start daydreaming about the playoffs yet, but enjoy when this young team sticks it to someone, especially the Patriots.

We're neither. Not as bad as we were against Zona not as good as we looked against NE. Probably somewhere in the middle.

The Cards game was just a case of us getting caught on our heels and them hitting us up for quick points. As they said during that game we're not a team that is built to play from behind.

The Patriots on the other hand are showing signs of wearing down. Without Brady they're an average team, like we are an average team and we went in there and shocked them with unorthodox offense.

What we need to do now is keep the momentum and continue to play better than we are if we hope to upset the Chargers.

I take it as a glimpse into the future (not neccesarily this year) to which our direction is headed. You know tough as nails defense, real good run game and an offense thats stays on the field for long streches but with the ability to score quick too.

Will this be for the rest of the season, no, but as the youth gets to slowly improve and our needs will be determined for this offseason and draft we can continue to overhaul the roster until the fighters remain and the quiters get dumped.

Honestly, I don't 9-7 is out of the question. Tough, but not out of the question--Saban's first year team was able to go 9-7 with what I consider to be less talent. That team had a strong defensive front that got many sacks, but had a shaky offensive line and a terrible QB in Frerrotte. That team got hot and won six straight, I don't expect this team to win six straight, but I do believe this team has more talent.
