to beat the pats.you pick 2 things that must happen.

i know we all debate a lot about the team ,and players.we all have different views sometimes.no debates here brothers.pick( 2 things only) that you feel must happen for us to win sunday against rats.for me 1-run ronnie 22 times.i dont care what formation it is in.3wr-4wr set-i formation-cat.it doesnt matter,pound ronnie he's ready. the jets pats game last week was a very good game .i expect a good game from the rats.2-we must tackle well on defense.lbs and corners must rap up everybody.we can not give up any extra yards.---i had about 10 other things but.i wonder what everyone else thinks.
 
1. Score more points than the Patriots.

Whether that involves Ronnie getting it 30 times or 10.
 
1. Pressure Matt Cassel. Even if you're unable to get the sack, force him to make errant throws.

2. R&R. Feed Ronnie and Ricky the ball.

Those are KEY.

Pressure Cassel enough and he WILL make mistakes. No doubt about it. He is still a very young and inexperienced QB.

Of course if you give him "time" he will make good decision. Pressure the kid.

and let R&R do their thing.

1)Miami DB's MUST be on their "A" game. That means facing Moss in single coverage when they come out in spread formation. Basically daring Cassal to throw the deep ball.

2) We must dominate Time of Possession. Keep their defense on the field while we convert 3rd downs.

I feel that these things i mentioned are IMO the top two areas we have been exposed in during the past. We must convert on 3rd downs, if we can do that our T:O:p goes up,and whenever our time of possession is higher, we always win.

At first i wanted to say special teams but i think it will be O.K. If they haveto, they can just have fields kick higher and shorter or out of bounds.
 
1. Pressure New England's very old and brittle defense.
 
What we need to do is play our game. It has worked out pretty well so far considering we are 1 of only 2 teams to have a winning record against the Pats since 1999. We owe them a sweep to make up for last year.

That is definately a BIG key to winning the game.
 
3rd down conversions. If we don't convert them, we won't be in the game for very long. We need to put up a bunch of points.

Ronnie or Ricky need to have their best game of the season.
 
1) STOP THE RUN
2) Pressure the QB in passing situations set up by stopping the run
3) Get great blocking on offense
4) COVER THE PUNTS/KICKOFFS
5) DONT TURN THE BALL OVER

If we do those things well, we will win almost every game against almost every team. Its really no secret. Thats the formula for success.
 
1. our special teams have to be on their game we cant give up a td on special teams nor can we continually place the pats on the 40.

2. Porter needs top run wild. THe pressure up front will keep moss from running loose in our secondary.

Before I even read your thread I knew what my two would be.
1. I agree we have to tackle well. The first meeting was probably the best we tackled all year. Akin Adell had that great one on one in the flat on the RB and Allen had a great stop behind the line on the quick screen. We missed a few on special teams but for the most part we tackled well all day.
2. Win the turnover battle. We have to win this and win it by at least two IMO to have a chance to sweep the Pats. We can't give them the ball on a short field.
Other important things we must do is get our TEs on their LBs. That worked great in the first game and we must do it again. Also middle screen em to death when they blitz. Ricky or Ronnie on their LBs (exept Mayo) will be a win for us. And of course the one thing that we have to do is cover kicks.
We will have to score 29 or more to win, they will score 28 at least.
