We beat them last year with almost the same team and exactly the same playing style. Why can't we do it again? If we can manage a few stops on D (unlike Monday) and run effectively, I think we can take them.

There is no chance we beat the Chargers on a short week heading out west to San Diego. Not with their offensive abilities and our defensive abilities. It just isn't going to happen. We poured our heart and soul into that performance on Monday and still came out of the game deflated and emotionally shot. I'd be surprised if we didn't get blown out Sunday.

I don't think we get destroyed....IMO it will be another close loss. But could easily turn into a win if we can get a turnover and avoid turning the ball over.

I think we will be able to run the ball a lot like we did on the Colts.

The chargers are going to score some points, but so will we. This is one of those games that comes down to turnovers. If we can get at least 1 I think we have a shot.

If nobody tuns the ball over, I think we lose another close one.

Gotta run the ball right at merriman....he has 0 sacks and 0 tackles so far this yr.

Norv Turner sucks as a coach, we win this, our D shows up our O gives them a taste of what we did on Monday Night and we win.

Who knows maybe we actually throw deep the first play of the game and score on an 80 yard drive!

Ginn redeems himself this weekend.

Last year was last year, but they almost lost to the friggin' Raiders. I don't see why everyone thinks they're so high and mighty all of a sudden.

You have it written in your signature FFII, it's realism. We're going on the road across the country on a short week, thats never good, coast to coast games are always a struggle on both sides. Not to mention our offense has go to be pretty gassed after that game and defensively the Chargers aren't going to be the pushovers the Colts were (from the heat and without Bob Sanders). Just no chance.

On the plus side, our defense is very rested. lol

Big reason why we won that game is because Gates was held to 1 catch for 12 yards. I don't think there is anyway they do that again this year, especially with the performances of Gonzalez and Clark. Vincent Jackson was also not as good a receiver last year as he is this year, plus a cross country flight on a short week is going to drain the team. I look for Gates and Sproles out of the backfield in the passing game to hurt the team. I don't see them getting blown out of the building, but the formula to beat SD is the same as beating IND. Run the ball up the middle with Jamal Williams out and chew up clock. If they turn the ball over and play defense like they did Monday it could be a long Sunday afternoon.

In the running game the Chargers are pushovers....especially considering they just put their NT on IR.

We're gonna be able to run it, no doubt in my mind...the passing game is what scares me. I really want to see if Ginn can get open as often against Jammer as he was on Hayden. Then he'll just have to hold onto it....

Like I said, I think it's a close loss....

and the Colts almost lost to the Jags...

...and almost lost to the Dolphins. The Colts aren't what they used to be. The Chargers were 8-8 last year and haven't looked very impressive this year. People are making it seem like they're the '07 Patriots or something.

The Chargers are slow starters, so I'm glad we have them early in the season. We ran well over them last year. Baltimore ran really well against the Chargers hurting run defense on Sunday. McGahee and Rice averaged 6 yards a carry in the first half. I think we'll be able to run all over them. I think the key on offense will be how we convert third downs. If the running game is working like it should we should not have many third-and-longs, and QB10 was converting pretty much every third-down Monday night. The key on defense (obviously) will be containing Antonio Gates. The good news is, as much as I like Rivers' play, I don't think he can march downfield on us as consistently as Manning did. If we can control the ball and clock, this should be a win. That said, I agree that turnovers (and special teams play) could very well make the difference in this game.
