Have you guys FORGOTTEN that Parcells used to COACH for the Cowboys??? He has MANAGED these 2 guys (Akin Ayodele and Anthoney Fasano)

Do you REALLY think he would be trading draft picks for these 2 players if they were not talented? Or if they could not have some type of role or impact on this team?

NO HE WOULDN'T!!! He traded for these two guys for a reason!

Fasano is a very young and Skilled TE (which is an OBVIOUS weakness that this team has)

And Akin is a Solid Veteran Linebacker(who started for the cowboys last season)

So we got 2 players for the price of one. And filled holes at 2 positions we needed depth at.

PLEASE STOP COMPLAINING!!!!

fasano would prob be in the top threee tight ends if he were in this class so im extremely happy and ayodle is only more depth inside or potentially a starter

What do cowboy fans think about this deal? They think they got robbed, violated and raped... Here's 4 quick responses I found right after the news broke out. This was on their first page in a thread on a cowboy forum-

Ayodele and Fasano for a 4TH ROUNDER???

What is Jerry Jones smoking now? Ayodele has a lot of value on the team seeing as how he started last year, and is no doubt going to be the starting ILB in Miami. And Fasano is a solid #2 blocking TE that will fit well in pass protection, which lord knows Miami needs. So why only a 4th?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not see why we're shipping two productive players for an early 4th. This is absurd.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Boy, I'm a big believer in Jones but there just has to be more to this than a 4th round pick. There is no way on any given Sunday that Ayodele AND Fasano are only worth a 4th round pick! I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop!! Drop..... Now..... NOW!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would be fine with letting Ayodele go for a 4th, no doubt. BUT... I happen to think that Fasano had tremendous upside and will be a very good player for Miami. Who cares that he had shoulder surgery! Find me a player in the NFL that hasn't had surgery! That was a big loss b/c he was an excellent blocker that was also a passing threat. Curtis may be a solid receiver but he is no where near the blocker that Fasano was. Unless there is more to this trade than has been revealed (which I have my fingers crossed for) WE have just been Violated !!
We should not be complaining. Leave all the complaining to the cowboy fans. They seem to be pretty good at it

lol I knew that would be the response without even researching their opinions, but I like the research. :beer1:

We are uncomfortable with trading picks for players we have never heard of.

Its not about the players we got its about still having a bad taste in our mouthes from pointlessly trading picks in the past.

Another thing here is that compared to the guys they were thinking of drafting at these two positions, they figured they had just as good or better with these guys and did it with #100. I am starting to like this deal more and more that I think about it.

Not to mention they probably know their character and work ethic and they would be taking less risk.

The fact that Bill drafted Fasano and went out and got him again
is quite telling. Then you get Ayodele as a bonus, great move there.
Sean Ryan was also drafted by Bill,be nice to see him pan out as well.

My favorite Cowboys fan rant that I have come across:

How dumb is Jerry? You're going to give the guy that spent a 2nd round pick on Fasano back the the same player, plus another linebacker for 1 4th round pick? After we gave them Fergy for a stupid swap in 6th?

When is Jerry going to stop bending over for Parcells?

We have to keep this is perspective. We got a starting LB and a young TE for one 4th round pick. That's a starting LB for a 4th rounder. 28 yrs old and 24 yrs old. But a starting LB for a 4th. Keep saying it and it will get better.

Ignorance is no excuse! If they do nothing but play on special teams, and they both may start, two for one is a deal. A lot of 4th rounders don't even make the opening day roster, especially ours lately.

Also we got 2 immediate starters for a fourth rounder. I'm not convinced a fourth rounder would start as a rookie...and we need bodies on the field this year.

I don't like it! It's not a 4th for those two guys. It was bascially Zach Thomas and a 4th for those two guys. Zach will be playing over Akin and that's why we got him.

Huh . . . we cut Zach . . . he looked at several teams before he picked Dallas.

If the trade never happened it would be like Zach for nothing (which is what it was because we cut him). . . .

u can't just say he is apart of the trade, because Dallas didn't have to make the deal last night.

And Cowboys fans aren't even counting on Zach like that . . . they have some young guys like Burnett and Carpenter that they really want to play ILB . . . Zach is a tuff as nails expereinced guy but they understand he is potentially one big hit away from shutting it down for good.

It was a good trade for both teams . . . but simply put we got the better deal because we obtained 2 potential starters for a unknown 4th round pick.

Dallas doesn't mnd because both guys are backups on their team, they freed some cap space and have more ammo to move up and get a Roy Williams via trade or McFadden.
