I'm sorry, but I don't think Nate Clements deserves an 80 million dollar contract :sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol:

He's not even on the level of a Champ Bailey and he's getting superstar best-ever kind of money. It's ridiculous.

And don't get me started about Tony Pashos...wow, nice work Jacksonville :sidelol::sidelol::sidelol:

Should we break the bank over these guys, throwing so much money at them when we're driven to the point where we can't even pay our draft picks and other need players? This is not Madden folks, where you can sign Peyton Manning, Larry Johnson, Chad Johnson, Jonathan Odgen, Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Chris McAlister, Ed Reed, and Adam Vinatieri and still have 20-30 million dollars left over. It's just not that easy.

As you learn the Cap and how guys are signed you will find out theres plenty of money to sign guys...I am not saying go spend tons on guys that cant cover there cap but we have a ton of holes to fill and they havent done crap.

I am nervous as heck with the lack of signings...As should u and every1 else.

It is not that easy but we also don't want to become the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NFL . We need to open up our pockets for Dielman. He is only 26 and could give us many years. i don't think we should break the bank for Porter however.

Agreed, and what about the huge contracts Cleveland gave Steinbach, and Dockery to Buffalo....49 million each? Morons. That is more than Hutchinson got last year, and they are not nearly as talented as he is.

That will make Dielman's price go up I'm sure, and it was already high enough. He is the biggest name I'd like to pick up, but I'm not sure at that price he's worth it.

Why should I be worried? :sidelol:

My God, man, just because we didn't get the Mr. Moneybags/Nick Sabans of free agency doesn't mean we are going to be deprived...there's tons of talent out there.

And to the poster above, that Dockery deal is another reason to laugh at the Buffalo organization...pathetic!! :sidelol::sidelol::sidelol:

This year has a lack-luster group of FA's getting sick money. I'm all for staying out of it this time around. Next year, we'll have much more to spend, and hopefully, it will be a much better crop. Then I can see giving one or two guys the "sick money". At least then it might be worth it.

then there are fans of 27 other teams that are "nervous as heck with the lack of signings"

free agency started 1 day ago, and i dont see how any of the signings so far were anything to get worried about. every timethere is any free agent available, the fans on here go apes--t about signing every one of them, there is a need for only a few available free agents, and certainly not for the money spent the first day. miami has plenty of cap room, but 10 mil a year for clements? 7 mil for dockery? are you kidding? i am glad that miami has a lack of signings for those players at those prices

Generally I don't care how much the Wayne pays for a player because its not my money - so why would I care!?!?!? But . . . . come on, the Bills, Browns, and Niners are acting like ******s (nooffense intended to ******s). They are way overpaying. How much are the Bills and Browns paying for GUARDS!!!!????? Good lord who is runiing those insane asylums. I know that the so called "shut down" corner are a premium but the Niners are nuts giving that cash to Clements. I will laugh my butt off when bargain basement teams like the Pats and Steelers come out on top again the Bills, Browns and Niners are again relegated to the bowels of their respective :D divisions.

That said, I'd still love to see the Fins sign Porter.

well said

just 17...?

I agree with this thread. Just because we're the Miami Dolphins, everyone thinks that free agents should flock to South Beach like there's a sale for 50% of Bently's. The Dolphins simply don't have the room to add guys like A.Thomas or Clements and still fill the other holes that they have. Plain and simple. Why do you think the Patriots have all that cap room? Cause their biggest free agent signing under Belichek was Junior Seau. They built their team through the DRAFT. They refused to give big contracts to guys that they thought weren't worth it, and they have a ton of cap room because of it. They can now go out and get a guy like Thomas, who they feel is worth a big time contract.

Personally, I'm fine with the Phins not getting any of the guys that are gone, because I never thought they were coming here in the first place. Every year, people get their hopes up, and make avatars of people in Dolphins unis, and then pout when they sign somewhere else, and blame the front office for not spending the money that they never had to spend in the first place. Everyone on this board needs to take a deep breath.

it is a good post Adam

My only objective is that people read the post...ya know, cram some sense into their heads.

27 other teams didn't sign players yesterday. Twenty-seven. I guess those 27 other teams are screwed just as much as we are, huh?

Wow, I don't wan't to call any individuals out, but I see a few guys on this board that just....jeez. :sidelol:

You got that right.
