To whom it may concern,

Please stop the draft MATT RYAN LEAF posts with our #1 pick. He is a good QB, however he is not worth the #1 pick.

thank you,

Seriously, if we didnt draft John Beck last year I am all for it, but why just throw away a second round pick after 1 season? Im glad all the Matt Ryan supporters aren't in charge of our draft.

And to all the John Beck haters that say..."Blah blah blah, but John Beck sucked last year!!!"

Yes he did. Lets hope with some proper coaching he can develop into a decent QB, and if not, we look for a replacement. But give the kid a chance.

To whom it may concern,

Please stop the all the draft Drew Brees memos with our 1st round pick. I have already made up my mind that we are set at QB, and need to take a nickel defensive back, namely Jamar Fletcher. I would really appreciate it if we could maintain more of a lemming culture here, and not raise any counter points to my draft board.

thank you,

Dave Wannstedt

Even Matt Ryan naysayers like myself have to admit that's an excellent rebuttal.

To whom it may concern,

I know which college QB's will succeed in the NFL and those who won't.

I ironically despite having a talent that should make me a millionaire, I prefer to give my advice free on the internet. I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Sincerely,

Umpalu

Yep, be we should be drafting Joe Flacco in round two. :woot:

I am confused. At what point did I say he wouldn't succeed? And at what point did I say I wasn't a millionaire? Don't have to be a GM with no job security to make millions when you can do it in a different career with job security.

Thats your opinion, does not make it true

Oh now we cannot throw away picks. How many ran Culpepper out of town after one year, cost a second round pick, AJ Feeley cost a second round pick.

Oh so now you want to give the QB a chance. No QB faced a worse situation than AJ Feeley. God Awful line and no running back at all, at least Beck had a some ok play on the oline.

agreed and this is why none of us r GMs in the league and we are given this free board to express our opinions on. I respect anyone's opinion on this board as long as it is based in some facts and not just mindless opinions, as I would and do yours.

It isn't backpedaling at all. Succeeding at the QB position the NFL means being average at this point. How many teams have QBs that are elite without question. Not to many. Ryan will be average IMO when he gets to his potential, and average mean that you can get your team by to the playoffs and you can try and survive on hope from there. There are no elite QBs in this draft, plain and simple. If there was I would be throwing John Beck under the bus as a lot of the rest of you are to get that QB, but in this draft, THAT PLAYER SIMPLY DOESN'T EXIST AT THE QB POSITION. Ryan will come out as an average QB with the potential to get you to the playoffs, but from there it will rely on the team to rally around that and get you to the big show. I want a QB that can take you to the big show on talent alone (or belief in that talent) and let the team rally around that instead. Ryan will be successful and I can see that as well as anyone that can see what is going on, but as far as 'SPECIAL' he doesn't have it. I don't think Beck has 'Special' either, but what is the point of having a $30 guaranteed QB that doesn't have 'it' when you can have a $3.25 million guaranteed QB that doesn't have 'it'? I am not backpedaling, I am working with reality. If Ryan was available at 32 I think he might be worth a little more of the risk than Beck because the salary would be similar, but for the risk/reward Ryan is not a #1 pick.
